In market for NFGT, can you guys explain different variations?

I am slowly trying to get into NFGT market. Well i understand its too late to get an allocation but i did some research and is bombared with so many variations

1. Heritage Pack - is this limited like the old school GT?

2. Carbon package - theres the grey/orange one for extra 50k to save few pounds and theres another liquid carbon package which shows bare carbon. These are 2 different things right?

3. 2020 cars have more horsepower? Is it different enough to justify waiting a little longer?

4.When is GT production planned to end?

Carbon is an option set, that came from the 17-18 "comp" series (no ac radio etc). The carbon used some of the comp features, like the lexan rear window. Its not very limited, and can be had in any color, and accent color (or no accent). Liquid carbon as you reference, is different.

Mild increase in HP and larger intercoolers

2022 is when production wraps 1300 ish cars.

Are heritage cars limited?

Also is competition package = carbon package? I heard competition package after 2019 has AC. Is this true?

Yes the 2019 Carbon Series (was previously called light weight) has AC. I am told they made 40 units in 2019

Also the Akrapovic titanium exhaust became standard on the later built cars, instead of a factory option.

Here is a view of the 2021 Heritage, with bare carbon hood, which is a modern tribute to the 1966 Daytona winning GT40 driven by Ken Miles / Lloyd Ruby, so the designs can be influenced not only by Le Mans, but also other historic and significant GT-40 endurance races, such as the 24 Hours of Daytona.

In the middle is the gorgeous Always Evolving car which has a unique wrap over a unique paint color.

And a beautiful Carbon Series Ford GT on the opposite end.

The Heritage editions are made in limited numbers for each year in that year's designated configuration.

Have fun in your search, there is a different and unique NFGT out there for everyone to fall in love with. Interiors differ as well.

carbon series is actually limited- I think only around 40-50 a year. One of the key features of the carbon series is the exposed carbon twin stripes over the top of the car. As above, it has availability of center of hood accent stripe and colored mirror caps not available on other GTs. There are a couple of interior features unique to carbon series cars too.

Continuous EcoBoost Innovation

Beyond 13 additional horsepower compared to 2017-19 GT supercars, the 2020 GT’s EcoBoost engine features a broader torque band and revised engine calibration plus mechanical upgrades that include gallery-cooled pistons and higher-energy ignition coils, thanks to lessons learned from the limited-edition, track-only GT Mk II.

Additional engine cooling and airflow updates includes new buttress air ducts designed to increase air flow by 50 percent while larger intercoolers keep charge air temperatures cooler, preserving peak power for the most strenuous, high-temperature sessions at the track. Suspension damping is increased in track mode to further enhance handling and body control, particularly for those high-speed transient sections of closed-course circuits.

The notion of "limited" is complicated. They are all "limited" in the sense that there are roughly 250 total cars a year, globally. The 06 Heritage had 343 in that paint scheme alone, so in that sense, if every single GT of a particular 2017-2022 model year was the same, it's still significantly less. That doesn't even account for the fact that there will be years like MY21 in which a significant percentage of the model year total are not in North America.

That said, no GT model or version is limited by anything but production capability. You won't find a "limited to XXX units" discussion on anything but the "Studio Collection," which is a paint-scheme only option for 2021 and 2022, in a total of 40 units.

The 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 Heritage are all totals of between 2X units and 5X units.

There are a very small handful of 2017 and 2018 Competition cars, as those cars could not be ordered with air conditioning, and the car is effectively unusable without AC other than being a showpiece.

The Standard car and 2019+ Carbon Series are produced in similar quantities. The Carbon Series is a full package that includes a model-specific interior.

The full bare carbon body car starts at ~$775k, and again, it is not "limited to X units." There will be around 30 of them globally from late 2020 until the end of production.

You are unlikely to notice a performance difference between 2017-2019 and 2020+ unless you spend a lot of time on a road course. The 2020+ cars have a superior calibration and cooling for the track. The HP is negligible.

The last of the 1,350 cars will be delivered in the early portion of 2023.

I think there will always be some elevated level of demand for Heritage cars. Other than that, I don't think it particularly matters much, especially if you are looking to buy one to use as an automobile vs. a speculative investment.

Since all new GTs are bespoke per each original buyer’s specifications, they are all “limited” in one way or another. Buy what YOU like. If/when you sell it, the market will be determined by who is on the buyers’ side that day/week/month. No guarantees.

It’s hard to imagine improving on the current Ford GT, but the automaker is trying with the 2019 Carbon Series model. The Carbon Series cuts weight while adding special styling and an extra dose of rarity to Ford’s race-proven supercar.

The Carbon Series treatment saves about 40 pounds compared to a regular GT, according to Ford. Those savings come from carbon fiber wheels (which are an optional extra on other GT models), titanium lug nuts, a titanium exhaust system, and a polycarbonate engine cover. Ford also removed the cupholders and the driver’s seat storage bin. Every little bit helps.

Despite the focus on shedding weight, Ford retained the air conditioning and Sync 3 infotainment system. Removing those items would have saved even more pounds, but Ford wanted to keep the Carbon Series relatively civilized.

You can spot a Ford GT Carbon Series by the exposed stripe of carbon fiber running down the center of the car. The lightweight material can also be seen on the forward pillars and low side skirts. The interior features exposed matte carbon fiber on many pieces. Ford says the Carbon Series shows off more carbon fiber than any previous GT.

Carbon Series buyers can also add an Accent Package in silver, orange, red, or blue. The selected color is used on the sideview mirror caps, brake calipers, and to frame the central carbon fiber stripe.

No mechanical changes were made, so the Carbon Series still employs a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 producing 647 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sends that power to the rear wheels. It’s unclear how much difference the roughly 40-pound weight reduction will make in performance, but with a quoted top speed of 216 mph, it’s not like the GT needs to improve in that area.

The majority of the weight savings comes from the Akrapovic Ti exhaust, which is now standard on North American cars, and the CF wheels, which is an option for any model. I would not consider that marketing literature in making any assessment of it as an option package.

The defining features of the Carbon Series are the dual visible CF stripes, the model-specific Alcantara interior, the poly window, and the optional accent color on the mirror caps and center stripe. Originally, this was a defined series. Now you can add any optional interior to it, and you will find that there are deviations floating around on the accent pacakges/calipers.
