For any of you who own or have purchased safety gear from Bill Simpson's newest venture - Impact Racing, your gear is now worthless in the eyes of the SFI. SFI who certifies racing equipment issued a cease and desist notification to Impact for labeling their products with counterfeit SFI certification labels. One of my racing equipment suppliers sent me an e-mail this past Saturday notifying their customers of their decision to drop the Impact line and the SFI's action against Impact. I'll still wear my Impact shoes for track days, but they won't pass muster with the SCCA, Grand Am, or others.

Tom, I just had my new Impact helmet certified this last weekend by SCCA for 2010 season. I have not heard enything to indicate that SCCA will be decertifying Impact helmets.
