I love Detroit

That sucks big time man. Head down here to the sunshine state, we've got room and I have a twin SHO you can borrow in the interim :biggrin

Sorry to hear about your incident Dave.

My local senior Leo friends all told me the same thing. If they are inside you home, you shoot them when they are facing you, then you call us first ( I have their Cell Phones) and then you call the station directly and not 911 - unless its an emergency of course.

I see your point, once thay have been shot while facing you it is no longer an emergency requiring 911. Of course the blood on the carpet becomes a cleaning emergency.

Sorry to hear of this Dave, it is frustraiting that as citizens we have very few options to defend ourselves.

I was taught you always call 911 and ask for the police and paramedics. The threat is ever present (where there is one there may be many) and you are always concerned about the welfare of a human no matter who or what they are. A "life" may be saved.

I have my own definition of the word human thank you very much.

sorry to hear it.

FWIW I carry ALL the time, just in case. I was even carrying while doing laps at TWS during the Rally.

Consealed Handgun License............FTW.

Our definitions may be the same, however for both of our sakes we should use the definition as defined by CA law and always obey the laws of man and nature.

My front door got smashed in last year as well. It's double layer glass and I guess the racket of the first layer smashing scared them away from trying the second. The car is one thing, but if you breach the door and we're home, you're leaving in a body bag. Period.

When they broke in through my back door. We had a faux nine pane double paned windo in the door. It was actually one solid thermal pane window with a plastic framw on both sides that made it look like a nine paned window. The theives took masking tape (well planned) and masked off one single pane. They must have thought it would keep the glass from making to much noise. I would have loved to see the look on thier faces when they broke that single pane and the whole window came down. at least the single pane was still in place with the masking tape on it!

Dave you need to relocate a little north to Washington Mi.
We haven't had any murders in the past year.

On a serious note one Christmas eve my youngest daughter went to church with her boyfriends Mom & Dad in Harper Woods (next door to detroit). After the night service they stopped at a Rite Aide store pulled up next to the door and the mom who was driving ran in to get something quick.

When she got out a gunman jumped in the car and stuck a gun into the Dad's belly and started to drive away. Then he pointed it into the back seat & my Daughter grabbed her boyfriends head and covered him pushing them down on the floor.

The father grabbed his arm forcing the gun down to the floor and he shot a hole in the floorboard.
He then got out and started to run. The store called 911 with a shooting in progress the police showed up about 20 minutes later to take a report and left them all sitting in the lot.

The police did not go looking for him. Needless to say I had a very shook up daughter on that Christmas 4 years ago. And she doesn't go south of Hall road anymore (M59 12 miles north of the Detroit boarder.

Wow, both you and Chris having face-to-face confrontations. I hope I could be as quick thinking as both of you were if it happens to me.

Did you get the SHO back from repairs? (It is week's end...)
