A friend of mine took delivery of the first car to ship from Shelby. It is the 624 HP monster. He also has a GT500 ansd is selling it after driving the 350. A little lighter, 373 gears that allows you to go through 1-2-3 about 2 seconds each. I didn't drive it too hard and didn't attempt any cornering. The owner and other friends claim it outhandles at least the pre 11 GT500s. Excellent fit and finish.

I'll work on him to bring it to the mile.

For $30,000 I think I would buy a GT and install the ford racing blower, which is what is on this car. Depending on how many actually ship this car could be worth some serious coin down the road.

I have several pics on my iphone if someone can coach me on how to post them I'll put them up. I know computers, phones not so much.

Chris and I, along with my wife drove it, and it's pretty brutal on the skinny pedal.

Handling is light with great feed back and on rails, Gary Patterson insturcted me to add 3* of negitive camber for the track.

Chris I looked for you at Texas Mile, but didnt see you there.

Warren's car is a bit fast huh? Its big advantage is that it hooks up SO well! He dyno'd it on Saturday and they did a 1/4 mile dyno run with it. 11.9 at 120 mph with out speed shifting. Not to shabby I think.

FYI, I received this e-mail from Shelby American today -

"As 2010 winds down, the window to place an order for a 45th anniversary GT350 is quickly closing. All customer orders for a GT350 must be placed with Shelby American by 12:00 noon, pst. on 30 December 2010.

Shelby American’s limited anniversary edition GT350 can only be created using a white 2011 5.0L Ford Mustang. Ford Motor Company has stopped building 2011 Mustang GT’s as it transitions to the 2012 model. Shelby American can help customers locate a proper donor car for transformation into a GT350 from the small pool of cars available across the country. However, once they are gone, no more 45th anniversary edition GT350’s will be built.

The limited number of Shelby GT350’s built in 1965, the first year of production, have made them the most desirable of Shelby Mustangs ever built. History is being repeated as Shelby American promised to build a small group of the 2011 GT350 in its initial year of production.
