How is the ground clearance?

I currently drive a 2001 M5 with H&R Coilover suspension. I haven't measured the ground clearance yet, but I will.

My GT will be arriving soon.

I am curious how the ground clearance is.

The curb between my street and driveway is short and has a rise, so visitors often barely scrape their cars, even non-lowered ones. Obviously I am careful and approach slowly at an angle.

I would like to hear about your experiences with the GT and driveways, and if you think it might be a problem.

And if anyone knows the factory stated ground clearance, that would be helpful, or has any measurements.

Thanks in advance.

I have never scraped my car on anything, but others here have scraped like crazy.
I am used to having lowered cars, and always go in at an angle. I will be lowering my GT quite a bit, and I think I will be fine.

I am dropped 1" in the front and 3/4" in the back beyond stock, no issues.
Did plow some redwood chips when I went off the road to park at Peeble Beach... no damage :biggrin

No Problem so far. I am careful over speed bumps by my house - go over at 10 mph and no issue.

no problem with clearance. my 2005 vette has a problem but not my GT.
this is my daily driver. I save the
gt for the weekends. Ya gotta love the GT-I do!

Just dont back into a parking space and bang the rear "defuser". The curbs are the enemy. On the road no trouble even passing over those 3 foot wide speed mountains.

Mine has also slid through a field backwards twice with no ill effects. :frown

Thanks for the advice Gentlemen. Glad to hear that there don't appear to be any major issues with clearance, out of the ordinary.

I thought I might have had to lay a sheet of Aircraft Spruce aluminum out over my curb area. Like a 3' x 10' .190" thick sheet of 2024T3.

The neighbors would love that look.
