Looking for extra traction. Does anyone know if the Hoosier P335/30R-18 Drag radial will fill the stock wheel without any rubbing issues. I have been told the A6 compound provides more traction than the R6 compound.

Cheers

depending on the surface R6's will give you great traction. At the Texas Mile I was running R6's and 994 RWHP and got full traction at wide open throttle in second gear and up. Tires were only spun a little bit to rough them up before each run.

It all depends on the racing surface.

A6 vs R6

Gentlemen,

I use R6s on my GT for track and street use. I don't drive in the rain. I thought the A6 was stickier, with a softer compound, and provided more traction on just about any surface. BUT...they wear out really fast for the same reason. Do I have this wrong?

FYI The A6 is no longer available in 315/40/19

Call Hoosier tire .They might have some kicking around.
I thought the A referred to autox

A vs R

You're right - the A is for auto-X & the R for road race. The As are sticker but have less life. A lot of the SCCA racers will use the A6 for around a second off their lap times. I've seen some wasted A6s though after one race. The R6 is plenty sticky.
