I don't see this posted anywhere else, so I thought I would bring to your attention the fact the Genaddi Design people have posted some pics of their hidden bumper system - see it here:

This is a great solution for those of us who like the clean look but worry about rear impact causing too much damage if there's no protection. There's some new pics of finished cars there too, plus 3 videos.

Huum. now I of all people truly like the envelope being pushed and I think the folks are doing a great job of it 'however" as much as I like the bit cleaner look the idea behind a bumper is to have something touched ....hopefully slightly before ...... the ugly sets in. In the case of the hidden nurf bar set up the initial impact will be those pieces I never want touched and then the value of the hidden nurf seems minimal at best. I am not meaning to be critical and yet it looks like busy work and extra weight with little if any real value.

Sorry

Well I agree it takes some interior debate if you go that way. I must admit, when I saw the rear photos of the first prototype car, I thought the external rear bumper was a joke and looked out of place. But now after getting used to it, it does not bother me so much. Still , I like the clean look of the original GT40 cars, esp. the Mirages (like #1075). The Genaddi solution is the safest one so far in that direction. And many owners want their car to look a bit different. Plus I think it would probably be slightly lighter than the OEM bumper solution - perhaps Mark G. or someone else from Genaddi can jump in here and let us know the weight difference.

One thing I ask myself is - there isn't any exterior nerf bar for the front end, or for the sides so why do we need one for the rear? If s**t is gonna happen that rear bumper is only good for so much impact, then you have a problem anyway.

I was not clear; I love the clean look !!!

I just do not know that the inner bars would do anything when it comes to replacing it for the OEM bumper.

Lastly I too agree; the OEM never has bothered me.
