'rain water runnin' all under my hood, I knew dat was doin' my motor good' C. Berry circa 1957

Did anyone experience 'limp mode' due to engine temp on Thursday at VIR in the rain? I did not, and I did not run FGT on Friday.

Any experience with this, or is it too personal to discuss!

No problems here, and I ran without a temp guage and my bra on the whole time, plus mine is an '05 with the grill.

and my bra on the whole time,

In the rain - NO

Dry - I never let the car get hot enough to go into limp mode - I did have to dial it back a little (less throttle & higher gear) a number of times at VIR. But that's been my experience at every track I've driven a GT on.

I would hit the 240 mark after about 20 minutes .I would than just back off, do a cool down for a half a lap and go in .By the time I got in to the pits it cooled considerably .Than I would let the car idle and she cooled right down. I don't like to run the car over 240 .

Rocketman - does anybody have a solution to this problem?

With all the mods I had done (which are the same for Rocketman) to the front in redirecting the air flow, I still had the temps clime to 245 by the second session in the dry....I was on the car flat out (almost) getting upwards of 155/158 on the back stretch.........Normally the car would of started to go into limp mode...........interestingly enough, I kept pushing it for 2 more laps, and the power was there........I was told by Bob Ida that it was due to the Evans coolant

..........Like Ron, when I came in within 5 minutes she was back down to the 180's. I did 4 runs the same way.......Night and day from where I came from.......
