What kind of jack do i need to get car up to put on tire and rims on.Do i need to drive up on blocks first.

You need a couple of things......

Firstly a very low entry jack - as low as you can find. Then you need to get some jack pads, do a search here as one of the members manufactures them (I have a set and they're very good).

The jack pads will sit on the lift point of your jack and locate into the small (very well hidden) jack points.

Look on Amazon.com for a jack with low saddle and extra long reach. WIll try to get a model number to post.

Yes the Ford GT will go on a lift fine - it need four adjustable 'arms'. There are more experienced owners than me here who could advise further.

The best type of lift is a roll on because of removing the belly pans.

I agree:thumbsup I have a drive on lift with a sliding jack cradle in the middle. Bought two pnuematic air jacks and this works great. You should have a ceiling height at about 11' for it to be comfortable under the car if you are tall. I also made some rubber pads to keep from sliding or scraping the lift points. You could also use a low profile bottle jack if you wish to save a few $$$$$. :cheers
