A good friend, who worked with me at Ford for 30 plus years, sold his 1953 Ferrari at Monterrey this past August.
There is a nice story about Chuck Weiss on the R/M Website. His car was lot140, Sold 8/16/2013.
1953 Ferrari 375 MMSpider Chassis 0364AM
Many of you may have been at Monterrey.

Some of you (like myself) who are 'long time Ford engineers /Retirees" may remember Chuck when he worked in Chassis and Vehicle Development.
Another 'car-guy' does good..

He certainly did do well....$9 MM. Whew. I could enjoy retirement with a nest egg like that. Good for him.

FWIW, can you imagine racing a 1900 lb car with 4 whl drum brakes and 340 hp on the tires of that era?

Spectacular car and a great story! Thanks for posting about it!

I recall Chuck telling me 40 years ago when we worked together at Ford that his Ferrari would be his "retirement". Boy was he right! When he bought the car it had a small block Chevy engine. Somehow he found the original engine and got the car back to original condition. Can't think of a more deserving can nut to have this good fortune than Chuck.

"Can" should have been "car". I guess I forgot how to proof read.

That's crazy! I love hearing things like this. Too bad I'll be long dead by the time my GT hits 9 mil. LOL

Neil...Great to hear from you and note that you are still 'lurking' around the Ford GT Forum ! Thank-you for adding some more 'texture' to the Story about Chuck and the car . Hopefully he will be a FordGT Owner in the future..
