Fun in Detroit

Long story short, there is a medium sized airport in the city of Detroit that doesn't get used much anymore since they built the mega airport outside the city, a friend of ours has a fairly high level of control over the property currently, and Road & Track is now using it as their home base. Yesterday Camilo called and we went down check out the R&T course while Larry Webster put some cars through the paces. Turned on the news and there we were. And the GT also doubled as a lawnmower on the Circuit de Detroit. :thumbsup

Detroit City Airport. Not an area I take out of towners to on the complimentary hood tour.
 
Looks like a blast. With the paint scheme on Camillo's car, from a distance it looks like a GT40 straight out of the '60s.

Jaxgt-I ran into your McLaren salesman when I was snooping around a second hand white coupe he has for sale. He spoke very highly of you and held you up as Exhibit A to demonstrate the superiority of the McLaren over the 458 :)

It looked amazing going around the circuit with Webster driving the wheels off. Really looks like a race car. It's amazing how awesome the GT still looks blasting around a track vs sitting still.

In the late 40's I went to a high school right next to the Detroit City Airport. A lot has changed in that area since then.
 
Yeah - in the 1970's to 2013... I live near this city...time for some Caterpillar bulldozers, big bonfire and start over..
