Abandon Freedom.
I didn't like him as Secretary of State either. Why fight for freedom on the battlefield if you intend to abandon it in your own country? What a shame. :frown

Powell was never sec of defense, he was chairman of joint chief of staff under Bush I. , sec of state under Bush II.

I've always respected him. If he were running for president, there would be very a good chance he would get my vote.

I tire of political rhetoric
Seems like - about this time in every major election, I am saturated with all the political rhetoric and political bullsh*t. Political panic invariably sets in and I get inundated with phone calls, e-mails, trash mail, etc. I get worn down to the point where I don't want to hear or see any of it - no matter which candidate I tend to support. Madison Avenue and the medias have distorted and destroyed the real issues to the point where all we see are inconsequential meaningless diatribes and dribble. I tire of it all.
I just thank God that I have a Ford GT with which to get away from it all.

Too bad however, that this election will lead us into Social Communism, loss of the Second Amendment rights and pretty soon marriage between people and even animals that they like....

Yup, most folks would prefer that we avoid political discussion on this board, when asking people why they enjoy the forum it is for fraternal and technical reasons...
Because most of us have the same views, we have avoided some of the nasty exchanges found on most boards.
I dread picking up the home phone, getting blasted with folks that are calling from my party, they got my vote, all the money they are going to get this year, all what they are doing is preaching to the choir.
