A few weeks ago I had posted a thread seeking a general feel on what the members thought about us connecting with Ford Performance Group. Just to let you know, this is a done deal.

What should you expect to change on Ford GT Forum?

Not much. It will be the same owner's forum you've come to know and love. You'll be seeing a rotating banner ad for the Ford Performance Group which is the enthusiast arm of the SVT/Ford Racing apparatus. You'll also see our logo over at http://www.fordperformancegroup.com.

What will they do with my email address?

Here's what we had to give up in order to become an officially sanctioned FPG club: the aforementioned banner ad and an email list of our GT owners. With your email address, you are going to receive a one-time email from FPG asking you to either opt-in or opt-out of their communications list. If you opt-in, you're in. If you opt-out, you'll never see it again.

What can I look forward to if I opt-in?

The following stuff is why I figured it would be more than worth it to cough up the email list. I hope you'll agree:

  • Access to Ford Performance Info Center (800)-Ford-788
    • Information clearinghouse on all Ford Performance related questions and concerns
    • Free technical assistance on performance questions via the Ford Racing Tech Line
  • Discounts on selected purchases through FPG call center
    • Ford Certificates of Authenticity (VERY NICE)
    • Sale on selected performance related memoribilia, apparel and accessories.
  • Exposure to exclusive FPG club offers
    • For example, priority on special displays at national events
    • "Backstage" passes to Ford media and press events (i.e, SEMA, auto shows)
  • Potential Ford participation in club promotions and events
    • Help promoting our events and getting Ford employees there
    • Guest speakers from Ford where available
That's just some of the stuff. So if you own a GT, look for that email coming in the next few weeks. Again, it's purely voluntary.

What's in it for the forum?

We get all the benefits for the members mentioned above, and we get our logo and our webpage linked on the FPG website, so more people find out, and more people participate. Also, this was discussed as a way to get Ford more involved in the Rally. Obviously Rallies 2-4 hit at the worst possible time to get involvement from the company, but with brighter days ahead and this new relationship with FPG, I'm hopeful we can get the big blue oval on board for some support in getting more GT guys, more cars, more speakers and more everything to our events. Mark my words, with this years advanced warning, we're getting someone from the top floor in Dearborn to Rally 5.

So there it is. Happy motoring.

:cheers

I think this is great.

Well done Dave! Any added 'linkage' to the Ford Motor Company Corporation is, in my opinion, valuable....

Good Job Dave.:thumbsup

All of this is a big PLUS for our Forum group. Way to go Dave! Tomy Hamon

Very nice. Happy to participate, especially if it means discounts and new access to things Ford.

Nobody cares about finance guys :frown :wink

Well done Dave! :cheers

Sweet. Thanks DBK!

Sounds good !!!

Thanks Dave! Any idea when to expect that email?

Not sure. I already tossed John Clor, who is "the man" at FPG, the email list. I'd expect it'll take him a minute to import it all and get something worked up to send out. Soon!

Hey Finance Guys are very important!

We would love to hear him speak, and have him see how the participation ball has rolled since Rally I....
(by the way, good job as usual!!)

I hope that whomever it is from the top floor in Dearborn, will appreciate the previously selected Rally 5 locale:

Got my email from Ford Racing this morning and unfortunately do not see any linkage to our GT Forum or anything under the "Clubs & Events" pulldown about our "club"...(?)
