Off topic a little , and hopefully in the right forum section

I am thinking about buying a late model mustang coupe or convertible for a daily driver and was wondering if there are any particular models to look for that might hold their values a little better than others

There are so many mustangs on the market and the prices are all over the place I thought it might help to get some advise from the forum , as I know mustangs have been talked about here in the past

Also does anyone have experience with the mustang convertibles and do they leak and how is the road noise

Thanks

I have a 2010 GT500 convertible and it has not leaked. I dont think the road noise is any worse in it than a coupe. In fact with the top down, and the wind deflector and windows up, I can talk on the phone and listen to the radio when on the highway.

Get a Boss 302 and you'll never manage to wipe a silly grin off your face! You can buy a 2012 (end of year for the Boss run) and get a good deal. Depreciation also might be less than the standard fair Mustang too - especially if you buy right.

If you dont mind something from 03/04 vintage I'd buy a Mach1. Its obviously a reissue of the name used from 69 on and has many styling cues from the 69/70 model such as magnum 500 style rims, shaker hood and retro interior very much like the "comfortweave" from 69. It is a somewhat limited production vehicle with around 6000 made each year.
The cars are lowered and have more power and better gears than a stock GT. Like I said,...they have a hole in the hood with a functional Ram Air shaker connected to the motor.
So they are a neat variant.
No convertible tho. Which is in keeping with the Mach1 from back in the day.
They are very reasonably priced. From about 10k on up. 20K would buy the nicest one with less than 5000 miles on it.
I own a 2004 and I love it.
maybe more than one.......

I don't think there any mustangs that keep their value. I've got a 2011GT500 convertible with the supersnake upgrade and now finally after severals mods it's a real good car. Suspension : throw it off and get a KW variante 3 if you like to keep your teeth. A suspension needs to catch pumbs and not jump over them. tires : badyears F1 tires really worst tire ever. I've put some Michelin super sports and now the car really sticks.
A buddy has the same in coupe version and not really a difference on road noises. When the wheater allows top down and enjoy the engine.
With the mods it's one off the best cars I've ever had. One can really beat on it hard and drive it slowly cruising and enjoying.
Good luck with the selection

Are these the same "class" of F1 tires we had on the GTs? I'm still in the Shelby Mustang Forum and people are always asking about tires and have been looking for Bridgestones like we use in their size but I don't know what sizes to get. Can you give more info on the Michelins you use?

On my GT I have the previous tires = PS2. For me the ideal tire with very good traction and stability also in rain. The supersnake was really impossible to keep straight even in dry condition. I went 265/40/19 and 295/35/20 on the rear with Pilot super sport. Now I can finally use the power besides some dtc's showing up when pushing hard 1227 grrr
