Sounds like he was hitting the REV limiter. Still way cool. :thumbsup

Nice video. Thanks !
From a rolling 50-60mph start, the GT will certainly give a 458 a spanking, particularly if the GT is modded.
From a stop, it's hard for a novice (like me) in the GT to beat the 458 with its traction/launch control and dual clutch for super quick shifting.

Hey Mike, where was that? Looks like I70. Sweeet!

Great vid!! That's cool the GT won, but I still gotta say, "WOW, that 458 is an amazing car!". A friend got one this summer, and I'm nothing but impressed with it. Wouldn't trade my car for one, but damn, if I could get a 2nd car, that might be it.

The launch control did squat for the Lambo in "Battle of the super cars" when the GT whitewashed the Lambo , does the 458 have a better launch control

Cant say how it compares to the Lambo. It is much quicker off the line for me than my GT, HOWEVER I am no master at launching a three pedal stick shift car. More experienced drivers might find the GT quicker. Hard to say. The 458 sure shifts lightning fast though.

Mitchell you have the DA TC system. Ed Sims and I were trying different launch parameters and found out what works pretty good as for as a safe but fast launch. First check with Shadowman to see if you have the latest TC tune. Then press the launch button hold the clutch in, keep the gas pedal to the metal. Now at a constant rate of speed release the clutch, not too fast and not too slow. Too fast and you will bog at the line, too slow and you will fry your clutch. Since you have full throttle shifting you can keep the pedal down while just using the clutch and gear shift to move up the gears.

I still would think the F458 might be faster until you are in top of 2nd or start of 3rd then your Whippled FGT would leave the F458 behind. Can't beat those shift times of the F458.

The DA TC system is certainly slick. We have been playing with the settings some, tweaking it. What parameters did you and Ed settle on for launching? My clutch release skills need some work to not be too fast or too slow.

that 458 sounds sweet!!!
