Fog Light Cover Discoloration

I just noticed that one of the fog light covers (clear plastic) has a discoloration - sort of the same color you would see with a film of oil on water. Picture attached. This is a delivery mile GT.. Any thoughts?

That's really odd. There's no real 'built up heat' issue with those like there is with the headlite covers.

Thankfully, unlike the headlight covers, you can REPLACE those separately...and for a darn sight less than $3,500 or whatever headlight buckets are going for these days.



Edit: Does the summer sun beat directly down on that cover thru a garage window or something where the car's parked?

Are you talking about the rainbow look in the reflection?
 
Yes. The rainbow color..

and EP - nope on sunlight....
 
That is totally normal and occurs on the headlights as well. Well worn covers have lost this sheen.
 
I think alot of that is reflection you are seeing. I will see if I can get that same reflection off a newer car here, but I have seen that before
