Just got her today, first drive in downtown Miami so no getting on the throttle hard yet. Too much 5.0
Few questions:
Where are the latches to open the front & rear bonnet ?
Where does the owners manual store ?

Thanks

Manual latch for the front bonnet is on the left fender - insert key and lift latch and turn key. Electronic latch is on key fob. Rear clam shell opens in the center inside of the top (turn it). Owners manual goes in the pocket on the passenger side of the tunnel. Key and latch on the right fender open the gas cap.

The latches for the front. Left side I think (right, or the other side, is the gas cap). Or you can release it from the fob. It's 1.6 cu ft and exactly enough to put the car cover in its bag. If you're on a trip you can leave the cover behind and put some stuff in there. Don't but anything that will melt (e.g, your' lady's makeup) because it will. From my reckoning, put your underwear in a garbage bag and stuff it to fit. Best recommendation is to ship your

Rear bonnett is released above your head in the passenger compartment and then the two hooks inside the engine compartment. They are staggered. You can do it by yourself if you release the driver's side first and then reach across to the passenger side and you will see the most awesome engine in the world.

Who signed your engine?

Books - I leave mine in the net behind the driver's seat along with the mandatory registration and insurance cards.

My front is consumed with a baggie of passenger side 5 point harnesses (the boss wants the regular 3 point) and other miscellaneous stuff.

Thanks, will check on the engine sig soon

Oh yeah, if you haven't found the front hood release then you might want to find it soon. The other side is the gas cap. You're likely to need the gas before the "trunk". :)

I really wish we hadn't gotten 1.5 ft of snow yesterday and today (we've had snow for about 36 hours). This was to be my "warm it up and charge the battery" Saturday. NOT.

Edit: not 1.5" but 1.5' - 18". Most we've had for over a year.

Speaking of "gas":

WHEN YOU FILL THE TANK...make sure you insert the gas nozzle g-e-n-t-l-y. It's a long story, but, bottom line: There's an O-ring seal in the filler tube that you DO NOT want to cut, scratch, scrape, rip or tear. 'Screws up the vacuum seal on the fuel system which results in intermittent engine stalling. (An ounce of 'heads up' prevents a buncha cure...)

Oh, and also along that line: Make sure you are in fact in FIRST gear - not 3rd - whenever starting from a dead stop. Too many 3rd gear starts and it'll be clutch time.

I assume Shelby has clued you in on things like this, but, just in case...

:cheers

(Edit: ...and open the door a full 90 degrees before getting in or out!!!!!! Otherwise the 'roof portion' attached to the door will say 'hello' to your head! Warn your passengers too! :lol

:)

So funny. My wife burned her leg on the side pipe of the Cobra twice. I don't know how since I had shields so she had to go out of her way to hit the collector. The door on the GT is like getting snake bit. Once or twice and you figure it out. :) But every passenger is a new experience !!! :)

Hubbster, give me a call tomorrow and I will go over all the basics with you.... :)

Listen to Shelby. Congratulations!

I thought the owners leather binder went in the pocket between the seats on the firewall? If you don't have the big speaker that is.

Had some friends help me welcome Capt America :biggrin

I like the proper use of the vehicle!!! Congrats and continue to use the captain in fruitful endeavors with "friends"!

These guys are all wrong. The owners manual is best stored in the compartment that hangs on the firewall behind the drivers seat. :-). The other compartments are then free for stuff you might need to get to while driving. In your case, like condoms!!! Enjoy your new ride!

That's odd . I have bought 4 cars from Shelby and none came with chicks.

Mine either.... Shelby?

End of the month promotions?

I thought these cars only came with 4 options???

Shelby only offers the multi-chick option to those who can provide undisputable proof their net worth is over ten figures. He knows he'd be doing them a h-u-g-e disservice otherwise... :willy

Speaking of 1st and 3rd gear starts...she won't go into 1st until you're almost at a dead stop...at least on mine anyway.

Those two extra options hubbster got with his car are not options I recommend as it requires a lot of extra maintenance. Further, that option is similar to the McIntosh..... It's a nice option to have when you want to use it, but the rest of the time it is a option that gets in the way and takes up space far more than its enjoyed. I suggest getting a relocation kit for those two extra options that puts them behind the seat until you are ready to use them. :)
