Well, we'll see if social media/twitter is bigger than 'old' automotive advertising tactics & passion.

Top Gun

Gentlemen,

Bob Lutz is precisely the type of guy General Motors needs right now. In my opinion he is one of the few no bull s**t high-level managers in GM's current hierarchy. I never met him during my tenure as a General Motors dealer as he was not with General Motors for most of that time. But I did run into him one year when I was performing in the air show at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was hanging out in the warbird area where he had flown in with his Czechoslovakian built L-39 jet fighter. Bob is a former Marine Corps fighter pilot and at 77 years old does not appear to have lost any of his passion for success and life. He recently purchased a German Dornier Alpha jet which is a very tricky airplane to fly. You gotta love a guy approaching 80 years of age who owns and flies TWO jet fighters!! :thumbsup If he gets fed up with the eco/government/bailout bureaucracy at General Motors, he'd fit right in at the Ford Motor Company. Below are photos of Bob's two jets.

I was hoping that Ford would "re-recuit" him when he retired the last time. If he gets tired of GM, I'd love to see him back at Ford. I believe he recalls how to get to the 12th floor of WHQ. :biggrin

I'd def. dig meeting the guy

Haven't met Farley but I did buy his GT.
