Dyno Day in Socal 2010

Hey Bruce, I'll be there assuming no rain. BTW, the last time we did this the guy doing the dyno was having some heat and filter issues with his equipment. Is this shop prepared to do multiple runs without any potential equipment issues or erroneous outputs.

HHGT,
This shop is much better equipped than the one we used a couple of years ago and they have not one, but two dynos. They did over 20 cars last time I was there during a Viper Club dyno day w/o a hiccup. My ACR put out 540 WHP btw, not bad for an NA engine. Weather is what I worry about at this point and will be keeping a close eye on the forecast.

Please check back on Friday if rain is in the forecast for a possible reschedule.

Revised List of attendance:
Bruce Li
Eric Johnson
Gary Peterson
Jack Topalian
Richard Shehadey
Mike Weinrab
Woboose
Midnite Blu

Due to having a 90% chance of rain on Saturday, the dyno day is being rescheduled to March 6th. Hope those that are having schedule conflicts this weekend can come out and those that were coming can still make it. Can we get a head count for the 6th?

Anyone wants to go for a drive Sunday?

Isn't the Mojave Mile on March 6th?

I know because it's Opening Day of Little League.

I could actually make the 13th (after the game).

Yeah the 6th is the Mojave Mile Shootout.

Rain again on the 6th

hey Bruce,

Are we still on this Saturday; it is going to rain, again!

No, we are not on this Saturday as rain is in the forecast AGAIN. Damn are we in Socal or Seatle? I'm waiting for another date from DC. Stay tuned...

DC Performance has informed me that they wanted to wait a few weeks to make sure we'll have a dry day. Hopefully April will be drier.

OK boys, looks like it is drying up here in Socal (rained today!!!) and DC Performance is trying again to put together another dyno day. Even though it won't be a GT only dyno day, the price is right and there might be a few high HP cars that would give our GT's a high HP run for the money - McLaren SLR and a few modified Vipers, so it should be fun to see what our gals can do as compared to others.
Below is DC's message:

We'd like to invite you out to be with us on May 1st from 9-5pm as we host our Dyno Day BBQ and Open House. We will be featuring some very unique sports cars and new products. All types of cars are welcome but we expect a good combination of Vipers, Viper trucks, Late Model Hemis, Ford GT’s, Street Rods and European Exotics. A free lunch will be served with refreshments.

We will be Dynamometer testing all day for $60 a test. We have in-house 2WD Dynojet and AWD Dynapack Dynamometers! This will include 3 pulls and a dyno sheet. It’s first come first serve and we need you to sign up. Expect to see some 1000hp cars. All are welcome and there is no charge just to attend! We are located conveniently between Beverly Hills and Culver City. Our facility is located at the end of a cul-de-sac which makes parking ideal for our event!

For those of you who have not meet our team or seen our shop, this will be a great time to hang out and meet us. Just come and socialize!

When
Sat, May 1, 9am – 5pm
Where
3370 South Livonia, Los Angeles, CA 90034

Please contact DC directly if you'd like to sign up at [email protected]

It looks like I can make this one Bruce. :thumbsup
I have wanted to get my gal on another dyno to compare to Stillen's that I used a couple years back.
Let's discuss at Saturday's Bony Run with other SoCal members.

I'll be taking my car there Saturday not for the dyno runs, but for a dyno tune. Need a few more extra ponies to keep up with KJRGT in the next Palm Springs run. :banana

Here's a flyer and a picture of DC Performance, plenty of room for parking:

Bruce

Feel the rush of a little more main line BHP? You ROCK!

Hmmmm. Baseball and 2 parties, but done around 3 pm.

Do they need to take the diffuser off to Dyno the Ford GT's?

It will be my brithday May 1st. I will be getting my pulls in 1st around 8:40 so I can make it back to my party..... Hmmm I am doing the cooking for fourteen peeps; Oh well Happy Birthday to me!

Nope. They only need to strap and cross strap the lower A arms. The trick is to make sure they insert the Wideband sensor deep into the exhaust to get an accurate AF reading.

One more thing Randy, if you want to load a tune onto your car, I have an extra SCT XCAL flash device that you can have for free.

Happy birthday to you in advance Happy. We live only 15 minutes apart but never ran into each other but hopefully I get to make it there early enough to meet you.

HertitagBruce,

I hope we meet this Saturday; if not and you are that close maybe we can hook up early one weekend morning for Breakfast or coffee. :rofl

Just got a new Whipple installed on my GT, was wondering what HP you have produce with yours? :banana

You'll probably be gone by the time I get there Saturday so we'll have to catch up another time. Maybe we can drive to either Supercar Sunday or Cars and Coffee one of these weekends.
I will be dropping of the GT to get my Whipple retuned as I'm not happy with the original tunes and I'm hoping to pick quite a few ponies on at least the 91 tune. The 100 octane tune on the car now isn't too bad but maybe there's room for improvement as it has been two years since I had the Gen I Whipple installed.
