does anybody here own a water well? if so how far down did you have to drill and how much water are you getting? i hired a driller to drill a water well on my 8 acres where i live and we hit a GUSHER last week :party

we hit a small flow of water at 550 feet down and by the time we hit 960 feet the rig was pretty much maxed out as we are getting 50-75 gallons a minute :bow that is 3,000-4,500 gallons an hour or 2-3 million gallons a month :eek

i live in the sonoran desert and therefore you have to drill pretty deep; but to hit a commercial flow rate of water around where i live is like hitting the Jackpot on a slot machine :club

i am so bummed that i do not have any pix or vidz to share :frown the driller got some vidz on his motorola thingy of the water blasting out of the bore hole all the way up to the top of the drilling rig's mast but they are not of a HIGH enough quality to view on the net. he also had a vid of the water shooting out of the tailings exhaust pipe and flooding my property with a ton of water in short order....

lol, all i needed was 5 gallons a minute at the most to do everthing i wanted to do; but now i have enough water to turn my entire 8 acres into Pond if i want too :beer2:

all of my drilling costs have been immediately offset by an increase in property value....

A jackpot,...... or you hit a water main, and you'll get a big bill.

Free water for the rest of my life now :biggrin

Wow, that's awesome! Sounds like you hit an underground stream. Do you expect it to be full time or seasonal? Here in Colorado foothills wells will produce during runoff but can dry up during the summer. I guess time will tell.

Are there other properties near by? In Colorado there are some "community wells" that is like a small water district but doesn't have treatment requirements.

Being in the desert I just had to put on America's Horse with No Name :)

Congratulations!

You should consider selling some of it to the local water district - I'm sure they would love to have an increase in their supply.

the driller said that i hit a crack in the rock in which the water runs through. the odds of hitting a crack in the rock with that BIG of a flow rate around here are off the charts. we had to drill through a mixture of granite and quartz. it ground the diamond coated nubs off one of his drill bits....

this amount of water is available to me full time, year round.

Ralphie - that is a great idea. i have always wanted to be a Water Pimp :willy

Another case of "I'd rather be lucky than Good".

Congrats.

congrats! buy some lottery tickets while your at it! :lol and dont forget me if you win:eek

For a minute I thought you were drilling for oil... Well done...

Drilling for water in the desert is like drilling for oil.

BTW, I need to refill pool in Tempe, can I run a line?ha. LOL.

Congrats, @ 960 ft that has to be some really good water.

I wouldn't tell anyone else, especially some governmental agency, next thing you know some water company purchases land next to yours and taps into your source.

Remember, we live in the desert .... water is probably the most important resource and sought after commodity.

Knowing you Freddy ... your thought process is way past this.

Again, wow, that is unbelievable.

i used to have $500,000 loaned out to the state of Arizona in the form of Tax free municipal bonds for almost a decade. my investments in the Central Arizona project canal system via the colorado river and Mesa, Arizona water all came to an end for me though in the last couple of years when one of them reached it's maturity date and the other one pre-refunded early. i now only have $165,000 left loaned out to the state of Arizona via Tucson water and the Salt River projects....

that's ok though as i now have found something to invest in that pays way better..... that being OIL :biggrin

after loaning the state of Arizona a half a million bux over the last 10 years to develop their water resources i find it only fitting that i would hit a GUSHER on my property, and deservedly so..... :thumbsup

Congrats.

actually i give GOD 100% of the credit. the state of Arizona has had a moratorium in place on water drilling since January 1st 2006. what that means is the following > you can't drill a well if you are currently getting water from an existing source, which i was. the only way around this is through an exemption which is extremely rare these days.

after reading that the Arizona Department of Water Resources rejected my request for a permit....i gave a check for 10% of the estimated drilling cost's to my church and prayed that i would not only get an exemption on my second request for a permit but that i would hit a GUSHER too!!!

not only did i get the permit but i hit a gusher too and my drilling costs ended up costing me less than estimated. in fact it offset what i gave to the church by the same amount, lol....GOD IS AWESOME :cool
