My passenger door is squeaking when I run over railroad tracks or uneven surfaces.. The door appears to align right and the local dealership is a no-go when it comes to GT work.

Anyone have a fix or an idea?

Steve

Okaaaaaaaaaay, I ass-ume you've WD-40'd the hinges, blah, blah, blah???

Is it a METAL squeek or a RUBBER SEAL squeek?

Try some rubber protectant on the seal. Armoral or other..

Maybe the aluminum trim piece on the inside of the door is working it's way loose?

The hinges are lubricated and the seals are all clean. All the internal components of the door system are tight and in place. Will try a rubber protectant/cleaner/lube to see if that stops it.

thanks for the input.

I would start with a simple pure Silicone spray on all rubber weatherstripping and door seals. That usually takes care of these kind of chirps and squeaks.

got them ... you are awesome!!! thanks

Steve,

Another view. If the other ideas don't pan out, take a look at the top of the door (the 2 black plastic fins, a.k.a. @ Ford as "pin & pocket" devices). Be careful in adjustments, they should only need to be moved a bit.

Steve,

I was just ready to post a thread on the same subject. I had a strange squeak that was most apparent when I was cruising slowly down a bumpy road. To the knowledgeable ear, it would sound like it was from the rear suspension, perhaps a shock bushing, or the anti-sway bar bushing. It turns out that it was the rear clamshell bump stops rubbing against the bolts on the latches. I greased the rubber bump stops as well as the latch catch mechanism where there is metal-to-metal contact. Voila! No more squeek. My blue car had the same issue and it was fixed.

Thanks Tim ... Sounds like almost the same thing here. It really sounds like its coming from the rear of the passenger door but then again ... its that corner where I had the problem with the alignment before.

will look at the clam.

BTW want to sell me that yellow car? :biggrin

I'm glad to see this thread, I have the same squeak, going slow on bumpy roads and railroad tracks, driven me nuts for the last year, I'll try all of the above and post the results.

Mine does this on the drivers door, the dealer looked at it a few times and couldn't find it. I just deal with it, but I'll try those few things out now.

Brian do. Tim's recommendations seem to have fixed my problem. Will let you know as there is a cold front coming through and that usually causes more squeeks in a car.

Also adjusted a few minor things from Kayvan's emails. Thanks again!!:thumbsup:thumbsup
