I had an electrician out to my house to do a little work. Where I live is semi-rural and he asked me if I was into motorcycles while we were chatting. I said no, but I have a bit of a car problem. :wink

Well, he realizes I am a car guy and starts to talk about his nitrous '85 Camaro that he has. After a few minutes he asks me what type of car poison I have. I reply "I have a Ford GT40, you know the re-make."

His eyes grow :eek and he says no way. I said I sure do, would you like to see it. Well that led to me pulling her out of the garage and a 10 minute picture taking session. :thumbsup

We go back to my house to finish the work and he says.."When you told me you had a GT I thought you were full of it." :lol

When he finishes I ask him, "How soon do you have to be at your next job?" and he replies "Why?"
"Well, you seem like the kind of guy who would really appreciate a ride in the car."

In true car guy fashion he says "There is no job I have to get to bad enough that I would pass that up!!! :banana

Needless to say I drop down onto the back roads near my house and gave the guy the ride of his life. He was shooting video with his camera phone and talking about how jealous his wife/friends were going to be that he got to ride in a GT.

That experience made my week. I know most of us don't, but never take for granted how lucky you are to own your Ford GT. :cheers

Good post and reminder:thumbsup and good advice.

'Pretty much the same story between me and furnace/air cond. guy who saw the FGT "wall hanging" in our rec room and asked, "Don't you wish you had a REAL one?" To which I answered, "Well, as a matter of fact..." :rofl

I believe that "estimate" probably took LONGER than any he's ever done BEFORE OR SINCE! :rofl:rofl:rofl

"Cheeriness"? I beg to disagree (but, not for the same reason :biggrin)!

(I mean, hey! If we're gunna hijack this thread anyway...:lol)

Like I mentioned, our's was hauled down to the dealer's via flatbed on Friday. 'Turns out THE FUEL PUMP that BMW had just replaced under "recall" about 7-8 months ago - FAILED. The dealer has now replaced THAT one with a supposedly "new, UPDATED/REDESIGNED" version...but, they can't tell me if this "redesigned" unit was made by the same outfit that created the origionals. So, I be thinkin' we've now been made involuntary participants in a fuel pump version of Russian Roulette.

I "hope" (there's that word again!) this new one is a lot 'more gooder' than the one it replaced, 'cause I DO NOT wanna hafta play this game anymore. :mad

Regardless, this WILL BE the last time I buy any vehicle that CANNOT be bought from/serviced by a L-O-C-A-L dealership. Period. :bored

Peeved Pockets

Sorry about your troubles E.P........but by cheeriness I was trying to be subtle about the gay vibe of ad campaigns, car owners, etc......that has occurred in the past when the dreaded "BMW" topic rears its head. :wink

......disclaimer: I have no problems with BMW's, their owners, their levels of "cheeriness", and in fact owned an 850 in the past
