Gentlenen,
This is the 7th time that GT owner Peter Volny has staged this event on the beautiful grass fields surrounding the lake and massive Fountain northeast of Scottsdale to raise money for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. It was the largest yet with 1100 cars on display, a massive crowd, and a quarter million dollars raised for the kids. 18 Ford GT‘s including 10 NFGT’s made for quite a display. Terry & Monica brought their striking Carbon Series down from Nevada and spent two nights at Beck’s Landing. John Glatz, Jim Kreber, John & Michelle, Harley Cluxton, Kirk Gardner, Barry Levitan, David Scholl, Gary & Donna Woolley, and I know I’m missing others here (contact me so I can amend this post!) all brought their GT’s and spent the day. Disney brought a fantastic Ford vs Ferrari display including cars used in the movie and the two main stunt drivers Tony Hunt and Darren Law who signed posters and cool Ford v Ferrari hats. The Marine Corps sent helicopters from San Diego to display and had the crews answer questions all day. Literally every type and model of collector car was there from a McLaren F-1 to pre war race cars. Terry and I handed out 180 Ford GT Hot Wheels to the kids and it was a fantastic time for everyone in perfect short sleeve Arizona sunshine. After several gathered at my home for cocktails before dinner. GT people are the best. Cheers.
