child restraint stickers

I attempted to remove the ridiculous child restraint stickers from the visors.[A small child whether or not in a child seat will NOT be riding in my GT.]

Yes, I know I have a problem, I am also the one who removes similar stickers from pillows, et. al.

The sticker began at first to pull off completely, taking with it the mousehair material at its base. Unfortunately it then then simply separated from the adhesive leaving the film on the visor. At least now I do not have to look at the sticker BUT the film is driving me crazy. Has anyone had this problem....will acetone or some other agent remove it? BAMAMAN

up against the wall...
removing the sticker is a federal offense...
The Bear is rolling in his grave...
very bad...
however, go to AUTOPIA the car detailing site and 987 guys will each give you a solution that will work perfectly....
now, never remove the stickers from your cars, pillows or furniture.
...you have been warned.

Bony, thanks for the information---those stickers just clash with the rest of the interior

3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover works well. Rotate the visor down and wet the upper edge, wait several seconds and begin to peel the sticker down, apply a bit more remover then peel the label a bit more. Dab the visor with a clean dry towel when done; a little dye will be evident on the towel but no big deal. Be patient, don't soak the visors and let the car air out for a few hours when done. Mine came off perfectly.

I usually use lighter fluid (if you can find it). Don't soak it, but it evaporates with no residue very quickly. Several attempts may be necessary.

I love the fact that they put child seat latches in the GT. I'm sure it's a law or something, but I think it is hysterical. I can picture a gear head taking his 6month old boy for a ride... handing him the milk bottle as he shift's into second. hahaha can you imagine the looks from horrified mothers in their mini-vans.... good times.

Yet another reason to love the GT.

You missed the Ass-ociate GT Rally Grand Marshal Little Timmy, don't think he is much older than 6 months.... :lol Great trooper, see the post with Timmy in his car seat :lol

I just removed my stickers too. I took off the visors and did them out of the car. I used a lot of 3m remover and it didn't seem to hurt the visors. But allow time for the remover to to evaporate.

Great picture Tim,

I am overjoyed for your family, three generations enjoying the GT, how cool is that?

Thank you dad for supporting Ronald Mc Donald House of San Joaquin Valley. He was very generous with his donation. :cheers

No worries. Do you know the car? I might be up there next week to get it. Wanted to see if you knew the dealership or gentleman that we're picking it up from? Sort of have you be my communications man up there. Looks like I'll be ablr to get that drink from your bar now. Have a good rest of your weekend

Hi Tim,

YES, I know Craig, he does a car talk radio show, followed by radio-trade-io
on KMJ. His day job is with Cal Trans. My pal Mike Reynolds, the father of THREE STRIKES is a photographer and has taken all the promo pictures of the various raffle cars. Craig used to be on an advisory board for a car concours that my Rotary used to sponsor. In other words, stand up guys / no worries.

Let me know what your thoughts are about coming up. I can pick you up at the airport.

Here are my time availabilities for next week:-

Tuesday - 2pm to 5pm ok
Wednesday - am ok (12pm to 2pm=no) 2pm to 5pm ok

It is actually truly amazing that the LATCH and airbag deactivation are in the GT. I've given a lot of passenger rides, but my number one passenger is my 2 1/2 year old son, who loves cars and GT's. He can name 95% of his hotwheels (which he has about 100). Recognizes car logos while driving.

Friends with older Ferrari's and other cars cannot safely transport their kids. It is possible in Porsche, but there are some additional steps to deactivate the airbag I think.

He really loves the rides and I am lucky to be able to take him sometimes.

Good grief!!

I was in McDonalds yesterday and right by the register is a donation box for the Ronald McDonald house. Right next to it is a sign that says they have already collected over 50 million dollars!! I was thinking, "How big a house does this clown need??":biggrin
