on the studs that secure the top painted clamshell vents. I lost one and when I checked the others they were very loose. It seems they should be lightly torqued so the studs don't break and the inner clamshell isn't damaged. I will apply some mild Loc-Tite.

Well mine are fine.

I'm going outside to check the car now.:biggrin

Too damn funny. :lol:lol:banana:banana

Put some red locktite on mine, some dripped on my zipper and now I have to cut off my new trousers!

GREAT catch !!

I just checked mine as there were 3 already about to come off and a couple others that were barely finger snug....

A "bit-O-Lock-Tite" became the word of the day

Thank you again

Mine were nice and snug then again I lost a coolant hose at the top of 4th gear under WOT. I guess this makes up for it :wink:wink

Do I have to turn my head and cough when I check them?

Not at all...
Simply apply generous ammounts of Purple K-Y lubricant...
And wait for the results...
Dr. Chris will advise the results shortly :)

I am having a bit of trouble getting them torqued to the correct specs.... should I shave them first?

I enjoyed checking mine so much... that I'm going to go check 'em again!

Btw-some were loose. Thanks for the heads up.

You guys are SICK!

All mine were loose, some about to come off.
Seems a few of them broke off the other end.

Where's Kip with the CF ones. I'm starting to think the CF console is worth doing, did the parking brake piece ever get done too? I didn't like the look of the console and not the brake.

After reading all of the 'nuts' comments, I thought, well. I need to check my
nuts,..........sure enough, .... I had loose nuts too......

Put a dab of Locktite on each one, & am hoping for the best......

Since this was mentioned, I started looking at all of the other hardware & other parts on the clamshell, & all look good & tight.......

Note: Some of the vent fittings were just finger tight, & I never even thought of looking at them until I read this forum....
.....This WAS a good find, so all of you need to check yours.....
