Downforce at the front needs to be balanced with downforce at the back. Ford GT program engineers carefully designed and tested the front splitter, rear diffuser, and side skirts in wind tunnels to optimize the downforce and drag. Refer to the SAE papers that they wrote about their efforts and results, while maintaining the styling of the top of the car.

Anything you do will change that balance. More downforce will increase induced drag and reduce top speed. But hey, it’s your car, so if you really like the look of a larger splitter, go for it. Just realize that you’ll be making trade offs.
Cause he's driving 200 regularly lol
I think raising it 2" would drastically affect vehicle lift in a negative way.

With the car lowered 2" it would put the splitter at the same distance to the ground as stock.

Like the one guy on BaT said, I will just have to join the front splitter of the month club cause I will never go back to 4 x 4 ride height.

I like the Splitter on the GTX-1's.

I haven't heard that the extra surface area caused any detrimental effects

Resurrecting this thread cause I have pics to add.

this is the SAI Super Snake splitter. It has 1-3/4” more ground clearance but about 2x the surface area

I absolutely do not believe this. There are parts now that are already impossible to get - see power steering hoses for instance.
i don't buy it either. I spent 6 months on a wait list at 3 separate ford dealerships for a brake booster before purchasing from a private seller. Now i can't locate an OEM shock, and this is the 2nd time i've had one go bad.

I can get you a shock I may have one oem in stock depending front or rear.

Ditto what roketman said. When one of my rear shocks started to get loose at 60,000 miles I decided to go all-in with Scott Ahlman’s shocks.

They work better and a huge advantage is the compression and rebound adjustability. The adjustment knobs are easy to reach and change by hand. For street driving, I have loosened up the adjustment knobs to 2 clicks above the minimum. It softens the ride noticeably. When I go on the track, I crank them back up to Scott’s recommendations. Best of both worlds. They also work correctly with lowered suspensions.

Don’t waste money on a replacement stock shock, especially a used one. Just bite the bullet now and you’ll be glad you did.

Also of note, Ohlins shocks (Scott's shocks) can be rebuilt, so will be the last set of dampers you will ever need to buy for your GT. As you know the OEM Multimatic dampers are not.

FWIW, Moton also makes a multi adjustable system that works really well.

Sure, there are a couple other brands, but why not buy shocks specifically set up, valved and adjusted for the FGT by the guy who originally designed the suspension of the FGT?

I have Ahlman shocks and I really think their adjustability is a key factor in having them. I can easily adjust to suit the driving I'm going to do - softer for distance travel, harder for performance. Put the stock ones on the shelf ....
