Anyone use the OEM car cover outside in the rain? I am looking at a get away weekend but there is one day of rain forcasted when the car will be parked. Thanks.

The OEM cover is reasonably acceptable from an appearance standpoint. Wet or dry, I would never allow it to come into contact with the paint. I use mine overtop of CCC Dustop, but only indoors. I would purchase a high quality outdoor (water resistant) cover and use it underneath the OEM cover and cable lock both covers together side to side.

California Car Cover Company makes a very good waterproof one for the FGT that is thin so it folds up into a small roll and wiil easily tuck behind the seat. I use it rather than the OEM if I find myself in a nasty-weather situation.

Rain doesn't hurt your cars guys. Yeah, you'll need to wash it afterwards, but so what? If you have a coat of good wax on it, it's easy to take care of. Better than hurting the finish with any cover. Now hail is a different subject, but the furnished cover won't protect against it.

Hey Doc!
Jason doesn't practice pathology and has asked me to moderate you from giving detail advise... :-)
Thanks for your anticipated cooperation. Enjoyed your birthday party, it was great!! :)

My apologies Jason.

Left my original OEM Cover in its sealed bag and ordered a good cover from California Car Cover. Great cover, and they send you catalogs every month.

Thanks guys, calling CCC now.

Great post Derry, I wondered the same thing.:thumbsup

Doc careful what you put on the web.....Jason is always lurking :rofl
