ACCUFAB FORD GT CORRAL & BRACKET RACE

LOCATION: California Speedway, 9300 Cherry Ave., Fontana, CA 92335
Track phone (909) 429-5000.

DIRECTIONS: Located approximately 45 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, off of Interstate 10, 1 ¼-North on Cherry Ave, in the city of Fontana, CA.

DATES & TIMES: October 21 & 22 (Saturday & Sunday). Gates open at 7:00 AM on Saturday, 8:00 AM Sunday. Time Trials from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM both days. All GT’s will be eligible for Time Trials both days. Eliminations for the Accufab GT Bracket Race on Sunday starting at approximately 11:30 AM.

ACCUFAB GT CORRAL: To get entry into the GT Corral (inside the pit area), purchase a “race ticket” at the front gate ($50.00). This ticket is good for both days, car and driver. Spectators / crew members will be charged $40.00 for both days, or $25.00 for each day per person. If you want to race your GT in competition on Sunday, or if you just want to run it during the Time Trials on Saturday and/or Sunday, you will need to purchase a Tech Card (inside the pit area, near the GT Corral). Tech Card is $50.00.

WHAT YOU NEED TO RACE: Drivers will need to wear some kind of long pants (no shorts and no tank-tops) and will also be required to have an approved helmet.

THE ACCUFAB GT BRACKET RACE: On Sunday, all GT’s that are entered in competition will be randomly paired-up in the Staging Lanes and will race side by side down the track. This will utilize the normal bracket racing rules and regulations, meaning that you will assign yourself a “dial-in” (based on your Time Trials runs). This gives everyone a chance to win, not just the fastest car. John Mihovetz from Accufab will be on hand to assist you with your dial-in and what to do if this is new to you. In the end, the winning car will get a check for $1000.00, the runner-up a check for $500.00 and the two remaining cars in the semi finals, a check for $250.00 each, all courtesy of Accufab, Inc.

LODGING INFORMATION: There are many good hotels in the immediate area, most a few miles west of the Speedway near the Ontario International Airport, off of Haven Ave. and the I-10. The “official” hotel for the Fun Ford Weekend staff and participants is the La Quinta Inn, 3555 Inland Empire Blvd, Ontario, CA 91764, (909) 476-1112.

OTHER INFORMATION: There will also be a full schedule of Ford and Mustang racing conducted by Fun Ford Weekend in conjunction with this event, including members of the Ford performance magazine press and the Ford Racing 18-wheeler out of Dearborn, MI, to help support the GT participants. Even if you don’t want to race, come on out and get yourself into the Accufab Ford GT Corral, and get ready to have photos of your GT’s in all of the national magazines. Accufab will have some of their GT products on display in the Corral (X-Pipe, Throttle Bodies, etc.).

PARTY, PARTY: On Saturday afternoon, after the event has simmered down, John Mihovetz will be hosting a “can you top this” action at a local Go Kart Track, reserved exclusively for anyone that is part of the Accufab Ford GT Corral. An excellent opportunity to run each other off the road. Accufab does not condone driving and dinking, however drinking and driving will be tolerated (bring your own beer and if you hurt yourself, you are on your own).

For any additional information feel free to call Accufab, Inc. at (909) 930-1751, ask for George or John.

Are you planning to attend the Accufab Ford GT Roundup at California Speedway on the 21st-22nd? John Mihovets wants to get a rough head-count if he can, to insure that our parking layout in the pit area offers the spectators the best view of the breed. Please let us know if you intend to show up. Thanks.

I'll be there at least on Sunday for the GT bracket race and if I can make it, will be there Saturday afternoon for the time trials.
