Anyone know the story behind the yellow car selling for so low?

The obvious answer is you have to be nuts to auction five "rare" cars that are almost identical at the same auction. "I'll just wait for the next one. Or the next one. Or the next one. Or the next one..."

Yellow stripe delete is an acquired taste. It certainly would have brought much more for the seller on the private market.

Mecum was a mixed bag overall. They tried to sell way over their heads and ended up with a great deal of unsold lots relative to the other auctions.

Never bought at Mecum, but if you add buyers's cost to price of the cars aren't these price close? Again, I don't understand why folks send their GTs to auction

It was a one-option car, and as dbk alludes to, yellow stripe-delete may not be as popular with as many people, may have lessened the bids.

Apparently, the non bbs wheels bring less money. Also, the car did have some minor paint flaws

That said, I think this is the same car, now well over 300K asking price!!

I agree with Dave about Mecum. I know they are not BJ but just far too much unprofessionalism in my opinion and yet they try to over sell the big ticket cars. I don't think it's professional at all to hear the private conversation on TV about wrangling the sell percentage commission.
The yellow car with no stripe?? I'm in!! I'm a "no stripe" kinda guy and never had a yellow no stripe. interesting
