Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction

I hope it follows the CGT market trends like its first 5-7 years.

I'll make this brief. Cars have already been sold, one of which was painfully obvious. I'm not going to get into what's being done to pursue/remedy the scenario. You've signed a notarized affidavit that has relevant language in it at the beginning of the process, then you've signed again agreeing not to sell the car for 2 years on your actual order form. You've signed your name in writing agreeing not to sell the car for at least two years. Even if you find a way to beat that, the best case scenario is that a) you're a liar and b) you're a ****ing asshole. There are definitely people who are comfortable being lying ****ing assholes for extra money. I would hope that nobody here can't make it 731 days before they sell a car. If you can't - don't buy the car. Simple as that. Let someone who wants the car, not a lotto ticket, buy it.

One of the cars sold for $2 million.

Hopefully there is a solution in the future and consequences for the guilty!

Wow! So you are saying this sale as a charity car was not agreed to by Ford? I thought I read somewhere that Ford was adding something to the sale... driving school or something? Very sad some have chosen the low road.

I'm not talking about this car.

Chip I would like to attend the dinner this year... 1 maybe 2.

Wow that’s fuxxked up.
There is always some greedy bitch out there
Oh well . Sad really
Ford has done everything in its power to put these cars in the hands of true car guys
A for effort
Lots of us really appreciate what Ford has done!
I still remember the applause Raj got at R10 when he announced the allocation process!
I applaud Ford now and forever!

There is a very simple solution:

Ford should not service or supply parts to any vehicle sold in violation to the agreement entered between the Ford and original purchaser.

It's my understanding that if the car is put into a corporation that you can sell the corp and the car with it and there is no legal ramification. Also what happens if there is a loan on the car and the person defaults. Now the bank owns it as they have legal rights to the property. So many things could be done to get around it.
It bums me out that anyone money, greed or whatever would apply to just sell the car. Cause there are a few like my self who live, eat, breath, shit, have rooms in their house full of Ford GT parts or their whole house, prototype shit etc who would give their left nut or both to have been excepted to buy one.. SO i'm giving a huge middle finger to any LOSER FUQ who was awarded a new ford GT, got it and sold it for a profit. Way to piss on Ford and this forum if you were a member....

I agree. It would be great if the car had a major problem and FORD Just gave the person a BIG MIDDLE FINGER> or just send a nice letter stating.

Dear John.
Being you knew you illegally purchased the car. We will not be offering service work or parts for it until we see fit. It may be a week, month or ten years down the road till we choose to help you with anything you may need for the car.

Sincerely yours
FORD MOTOR COMPANY

Just out of curiosity what if ford also kept their name on the title as a lien holder even if it was as a second lien holder for two years.. I understand this could possible be an issue with a lending company but there could be legal ways to make it work. just some food for thought.

A mandatory 2 year lease could have simplified things.

I like that idea!

So... is there a pool on hammer price?

That is pretty bad especially when so many of us are waiting to order and get our cars. I hope Ford pursues a strong legal remedy against anyone who sells their car in violation of the agreement.

This honestly is the only real viable option. Legally regardless of what you sign. When you purchase something and pay for it you own it. I get what dave says as far as the contract goes and being a liar and a as Shole tho. Because you are giving Ford your word that you wont sell it for two years. They are giving you a special privilege of buying something special. Respect is a lost form these days. Sounds like there have been a couple people who have no respect for Ford and don't know the meaning of their word..

I think it is cool and heartwarming, that the Car is being auctioned off for charity. Like Chip said I think it will hit 2-3 million.

Conversely like DBK said there are some pretty unscrupulous people out there that seem to find no remorse in not following the Rules and basically F__ the system and disregard all the others who respect and honor the rules.

This is the strangest thread, because I went from amused at the thought of Chip throwing out an early bid; to pissed off thinking about how people can be so inconsiderate.

I know Ford allocated many to current GT owners, however, they still wanted these internet fenoms and people who might give them publicity to get some cars. Why would those people have any reason to keep the car if they can make 200-300% profit.

If it’s some of our forum members then yes, that’s completely appalling!!

Gentlemen,

The cars that were sold did not belong to Forum members. I sincerely hope not a single Forum member ever violates even the spirit of the 2 year no sale clause regardless of legal technicalities. Anybody who thinks he could sell his GT secretly and not have the transaction come to light is a fool. And the Ron Pratt NFGT is being auctioned for charity with the blessing and assistance of Ford.
