Automobile magazine: Ford conisidering new GT?

I'll tell you what, if one of these threads ever comes up and I say "no comment", then you can be worried. For now, no need.

Then when questioned on the topic, what would you make of a retort from management like - "available in any color you want, as long as it is black"? :secret:

Ford is going to spend a bunch of money reinvigorating Lincoln over the next several years. Honestly, there's not a super compelling business case for Lincoln. Just like there isn't for Cadillac. They are peripheral brands that account for a miniscule amount of the company's sales total. But at any rate, they will spend a bunch of money on it in the next few years. They hired Max Wolff from Cadillac so I'd expect the cars to better match the advertising shortly. Wouldn't say it's a last gasp, but if they don't make significant headway in terms of volume or profitability, I wouldn't expect Lincoln to last another 10 years.

I have an attachment to Lincoln and would hate to see the brand discontinued. The first car I ever coveted was not a performance car at all, it was the Elwood Engel designed slabside Lincoln of the early 1960s. However, if Ford does not give Lincoln customers unique, rear wheel drive cars, they might as well save the money and kill the brand now. Luxury customers want rear wheel drive cars, not warmed over FWD cars and SUVs. I'm sure most here remember Cadillac's move to FWD architecture in the 1980s and how well it worked for them. Although there may be one or two, I can't think of any successful FWD luxury cars (or front drivers that were converted to AWD) made in the last 30 years. Even the Japanese manufacturers understand that the luxury market requires RWD cars. I hope there is a RWD car somewhere in the immediate future for Lincoln as Ford needs an aspirational brand. Dave-put in a good word for the Lincoln faithful.

Just keep making the navigator, it's the nicest looking big truck out there for families... Do you know if this will get discontinued? Thanks
