I've been using this pic as a screen saver for a couple of years but just now realized that the owner of the black car in the pic might enjoy having a copy. If it's your car let me know and I'll send it to you.

It was taken by me on the way back to the hotel from the track at Indy in May of 2007.

I wonder if that LEO is aware of the fact "Indian Larry" met his end doing pretty much EXACTLY that same stunt?

(I also wonder how long it'd take him to write one of US a ticket for doing the same thing?)

I left the plate number so the owner would know it was his car. If you recognize your plate number let me know.

What the hell? Is that a Cop? What's the story?

When the Forum organized the Indy 500 trip in 2007, we all chipped in and hired the Indianapolis Motorcycle Drill Team to escort us to and from the track.

www.drillsquad.com

We bypassed all the traffic and even went into the oncoming lanes to go to the head of the line going into the track. While escorting us they practiced their "art".

It was money well spent.

Indian Larry wasn't wearing a helmet. Big difference.

The rider in the next to last photo is actually in the oncoming lane forcing cars to the shoulder while he does a flying T. What do you think the driver of that car thought of that?

It's amazing what money can buy you with the right contacts.

That's the only difference. Many 'riders have been killed wearing one regardless. All it takes is hitting one's head on the pavement (or something else - like a guard rail) at just the WRONG angle. It could snap one's neck like a twig.

How would that LEO have had a snowball's chance of successfully maneuvering his Harley out of trouble if an unexpected obstacle had suddenly appeared...like a car running a red light, a dog running out onto the roadway, or any one of a dozen other scenarios one could imagine happening? He darn sure wasn't the proper position to have "laid the bike down" properly. 'Reality is that stunt shouldn't be pulled on any public street by ANYBODY.

'Just MHO.
