Nuthin' says Merry Christmas like a new pistol!:biggrin

Enjoy the holidays buddy!

haven't seen that one but I have been looking for a pocket pistol....

Don't have the 3.8, but 'do have an XD compact (.45). 'Fired numerous rounds thru it w/o jamming...'accurate...reliable...though I find mine a bit 'heavy', especially with the 12 round mag. Cleaning it is a bit challenging in a few tiny places. (Trigger & grip safety combo makes it idiot proof, too.)

I'm going to look into this 3.8.

(Edit: I would like to see a bit less 'trigger pull' though, come to think of it.)

No but I love the .45 for carry defense.

Did you get one? How is it? Accurate? Fit and finish?

Much more attractive than an Glock.

I have heard quite a few good things from a fellow forum member, expert in firearms. He particularly recommended it because of the grip safety. That said, I haven't fired one. I've always liked Sig Sauers quite a bit.

+3 on the Sigs... Sig 556 Patrol is my favorite gun ever. I keep one under my pillow (it's a little lumpy now).

My Bday is coming up in a couple of weeks. If I dont get what I want for Xmas then my wife will have a second chance.

I have a Sig P232 (sitting) and a Kimber .45 Custom Defender II (standing) with light mods.

I had a Sig Sauer P228 and should never have sold it. That was a fine piece of machinery.

Whoa. Just checked and there were only 290 Custom Defender II's made. Always fun to see quality stuff rise in value and collectibility.

But, of course, way more fun to use stuff and take care of it. Best of both worlds, just like our GT's.

Texas Détente - have a bigger gun than them :rofl

I think the J frame concealed or hammerless Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolvers are the best conceal/carry and personal protection pieces. Point and shoot, just like an Instamatic. When a second can make a big difference, nothing beats the always ready revolver. We all imagine we'll be in a Hollywood style shootout and will need 10+ rounds, but the reality is far different.

x 500.

I've shot the XD 9 compact. It was a nice little gun. Good value for $500 bucks. Trigger is something you love or hate with the trigger safety. I liked it cause it was short and pretty clean. Is this for carry? If so, another option is the Hk P7 if you're fine with 9mm. People argue over caliber, but it all comes down to shot placement over caliber size, so whatever gun you're most accurate with. You can get a PSP version of the p7 for $500, keep it locked and loaded, and the squeeze cock grip ensures no misfires, and the euro clip release ensures no accidental mag drops which happens with a lot of other guns, the XD included. The P7 pretty damn slim too, but probably a little longer than the option above. It has the best trigger ever IMO, I like it better than most 1911's I've shot.

If its not for carry and more range time, get a fullsize. Or a P7 :) Seeing the trend here. I love that gun. Shoot one you'll see why there's a cult around it.

Good luck and Happy Holidays.

I also have 2 SW 357 Mag http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...57767_757751_757751_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
an amazing revolver for its size.

Friend sold his HK P7 a while back and has always regretted it.

I am glad to know that you use your guns more than you cars.
