Does anyone with contacts at Ford or whom is generally "in the know" have a more specific release date for FoMoCo's long awaited announcement/TSB/recall/whatever on its prophylatic fix for the half shaft bolt failure? As everyone not on Mars knows by now, apparently it was intimated at the Rally Q&A by Jamel that this would be out sometime "this FALL"

I am tried of waiting, and bought the Accufab bolts a month ago. I don't want to wait until something bad happens to the car and me! I know of a case the a car caught on fire from the transaxle bolts coming off at the track, the leaking transaxle fluid ignited on the cats! Not a pleasant experience.

It is disappointing that Ford is moving at such a slow rate on a potentially life threatening issue. At the rally Ford hinted something may be announced in the Fall of 2007.

Don't hold your breath

I would not hold your breath on this one. Like many others I am changing the bolts for the second time, this time to the aftemarket ones. Mine have not failed in either car thankfully. Ford has had plenty of time to come up with an answer. Almost as much time as it took them to develop the entire car in the first place.

Technically Fall starts Sept. 23rd at 9:51 am. So we really need to wait until Fall starts before we get worked up. I'm surprised "Mr Know It All " Frank didn't know its not Fall yet ...:biggrin .

If you're concerned right now, get the accufab bolts. Otherwise, you know the parts are being tooled, and they are preparing the communication. Talking about it anymore will change nothing.
