Anyone else going to Amelia Island Concours 15 Mar this year? I remember reading somewhere that there may be a special parking area for our FGTs? Maybe from GTJoey, but I couldn't find the post.

I'm thinking of driving up from Wellington FL sometime that weekend if the 2017 GT is confirmed at Amelia Island. Sunday 03/15 might work for me.

Where do you go to get confirmed for Amelia? Their website is not user friendly for me. A link would be nice.

Great show today. Weather was darn near perfect. Had lunch with Jim Patterson who has an AMAZING collection of cars!

Great show at Amelia Island - as usual. No GTs on display on the show field, but there were a couple wandering around....

Here's a link to my pictures from the weekend:

Original 427 S/C Cobra, CSX3045, sold for $2.1 mil at RM Auction Saturday. Beautiful Black original street 427 Cobra, CSX 3130 on display at the Concours - complete with original tool kit and Goodyear Blue Dot tires.

Thanks for the photos - nice!! That's seems a big number for the Cobra, is there anything unique about that car, or is that the current market for a 427?

599 GTB 3 Pedal

RM Auctions estimated this Black over Black 3 pedal 599 GTB with 3,800 miles to sell for $200-275K. Bidding was riotous all the way to $620K. Granted, there were fewer than 100 (with RM claiming 20 for the US market) of these things made, but there are quite a few threads depicting the inadequacies of a 599 with 3 pedals. So I ask, did the market value this car for its rarity, or specifically for its MTX? Or is the answer simply that we are in a collector car price bubble?

Sorry, didn't see that this was already hashed out in another thread.

Rex -

The Blue 427 Cobra, CSX3045, is one of only 27 factory original 427 S/Cs (Semi-Competition, or Street-Competition). The catalog estimate for it was $2.2 mil-$2.5 mil, so it was close. As an original S/C, it is reasonable to expect it to bring more than a "street" 427 Cobra. The current market for a decent "street" 427 is around $1.5 mil these days, so something over $2 mil is not outrageous for this car.

I have actually ridden in this Cobra. At the SAAC 6 Convention in Dearborn in 1980, the owner at the time (Jere Clark) had fouled his spark plugs and wanted some new ones. I told him I had plenty of BF-32's in my garage, so he gave me ride to my house in this Cobra to pick up a new set of spark plugs. :wink

regards,

Jeff
