The Wood Brothers with a 20 yr old driver, Trevor Bayne driving the 21 Motorcraft car won the Daytona 500. My good friend and client Ricky Rudd (and fellow GT owner) drove for the Woods--they are great people and have a huge history with Ford. They are now a part time team and to pull this off is huge.

:thumbsup looked cool in the retro scheme.....great job..:thumbsup

It was a great race, and loved seeing Dale jr hit the wall on lap 201!!!!!!

Like they said during the broadcast "Cinderella" Story. Can't imagine being 20 and winning the big one as a rookie driver for a part time team.

'Any opinions with regard to this new 'buddy system' race format? 'Seems like half the cars in the field were wrecked because of it today.

(I guess I just prejudiced the 'survey', didn't I.)

It was a pretty exciting race. It was really nice to hear the other drivers say so many good things about the rookie driver and the Wood Brothers. Cool stuff!

I wonder what the 'Vegas odds were on that happening!

It is quite a story all the way around.

I for the most part don't monitor Nascar but I thought the end outcome was pretty neat to witness. Although watching the race with the car in tow feature enabled was downright weird.

Thank God a Hendricks car did not win. :bored

Incredible driving and cool to see the win. He played the last turn and straight beautifully with all the experienced drivers around him!

Cool story and team... great to see!

The Wood Brothers have been loyal to Ford the whole time they have competed in NASCAR. I love that.

Ford 1st-2cd-3rd:banana

Heard Eddie Wood's ESPN interview, and he was very emotional how he called the Ford family and told them he had been to embarrassed to call B/4 but they would have to call it quits as they were out of money and performance.

Benson told him to stay where he was and Help was on the way to fix the 21 team.:thumbsup
Driver, Cars, Engines, Money and Helpers all arrived in very short order.

And he said it was unbelievable how all the Ford family members stood in the Wood Brothers Box for the entire race and not one left for any reason.

After that it really sunk in for the first time....Ford Motor Car Company really is a family...none of the other car companies can or would do anything like that.

Dale Jarret & Rusty were all choked up as well.

And I am really grateful a few years back Leonard lent me Ricky Show car for a party I had in my house. We parked the car and hooked up exhaust tubes and you could sit in the car while watching the Daytona 500 through the windshield (projection TV) and every so often we would fire it up. It was a party for sure!

Trevor is the real deal, he drove with such disipline for the entire race it was very refreshing and proved very rewarding.
