As a long time L88 Corvette owner, I know these cars very well as I have been intimately involved with them for almost thirty years. The car that sold for 3.2M at the Mecum Dallas auction is a very nice car. It was dragged raced early in its life but never sustained body damage. It did however lose its original engine but seeing that they only made 20 67 L88s and every one of them has a story, this car is one of the better remaining examples. As for its claim on the fiberglass, it is the only convertible that still retains all of its original fiberglass. There is a 67 L88 coupe with 12 original miles that also has all of its original fiberglass.
