I met Doug at the Auto show. He seems rather candid in character, yet reclusive with his approach. While he may be running 110 MPGe (equivilant (while running E85))... this seems interesting to follow. I've heard that he was offered 9 figures for his technology by one of the OEM's... I don't know if it is foreign, or domestic based.

He told me that while under hard accel, the radical figures drop to more expected numbers; it is capable of a 12.0 in the 1/4.

There are already enough articles blasting the guy. I'm the type that says "show me, and I'll believe" in some sense.

When I first saw the Smart car in Europe I said never in America. Too small and, like EP noted with this car, what if you got in a wreck. Guess I got that wrong. :lol

I don't care if it gets a thousand miles to the gallon. I am not getting in anything that would be flatter upon impact than the beer cans BillyBob smashes against his head outside the Sonic on Saturday nights. :thumbsdow

I dunno, 'rex. I suppose it'd be okay as a TOWN ONLY commuter car. And shoot! For $600 - how wrong could one possibly go?!:shrug The darn thing is a throw away car for that kinda $$$ anyway! :lol
