21 Years & 3 months

Great News!!
I sold my business (along with a few other shareholders) last year after a 25 year ride, building it up from around $2mil pa revenue to $180mil. I'm now in the same position as you - agreed/required to stay for 3 years with all sorts of non-competes and covenants/warranties. Of course, seller's remorse has set in big-time, and I've realised that I'm probably the world's worst employee - working for a big corporate machine after so many years of entrepeneurship is a major change. But relief is at hand - a big help to me when I get streesed out with the new corporate BS is to go look at or drive the GT which was bought with part of the proceeds of the sale - life is sweet again!

Steve,

By the way- The new owners have been monitoring your computer e-mails and you already have a mark in your file......:willy:willy:willy

Steve congrats. I started to sell mine last year, but the economy didn't make it feel good. Hope to do so soon.

Congratulations on selling the business......

I sold mine a few years back, I felt awful for doing so as I was very passionate about the company and our people - but, it was part of the evolution. I stayed on for a couple of years as Chairman, but didn't really like being a spectator in a company I created. I haven't worked for a couple of years now, which, in your forties, is quite a nice thing!

Enjoy the moment - I hope they look after your company!

:cheers

Congratulations!!!!! :cheers But, I don't see you "retiring".....

And, I know where you can shelter some of that dinero. :biggrin

Congrats!

Thanks again everbody ! And no Donnymac I'm not retiring but hopefully will have a little more time off and do some things I've always wanted to do.
