2014 Corvette C7

GM is notoriously slow bringing cars to market. How long did it take to get the new Camaro into production? It was old news before the first car rolled off the assembly line.

Will probably look best in black and yellow. White could go either way

Best in RED!

We stagger our introductions too at Ford as do most. (maybe not 7 years) but the Mustang is an example..
GT, Coupe, Convertible, Shelby, Boss (s) etc in succeeding years.

Typically it is a combination of constraint by engineering budgets, testing resources and , in reality, it does keep the interest high and contininuing to build over time ...which helps sales.....all part of the strategy

Egggggg-zackly.

And, since it can be argued that said strategy is followed in good economic times as well as bad for the most part, it would pretty much indicate that "constraint by engineering budgets, (and) testing resources" aren't usually all that much of a prime influence with regard to model releases, wouldn't it. ('Too many historical examples that appear to confirm same for it to be otherwise IMHO.)

As has been said many times by many people, what it all boils down to is the fact that Detroit is primarily in the business of making money...not cars. Manipulating production of the latter, done skillfully, helps ensure the former...which is as it should be, I guess. (That tactic can get darned annoying for consumers who are awaiting the production of a particular car though.)

They both cribbed the design from the Ford GR-1. Thieves.
Both look great, but that Ferrari is stellar.

The guy who drew up the 612 GTO (from Poland or another former Eastern bloc country) admitted he morphed the Aston Martin One-77 into the car in these pics.

Black on Red!

Too much black on the rear valence panel. They should have continued the bodywork down further. I also think the rear end would work better if the tail lights were angled with the rest of the body lines instead of opposite.

I truly see facial expressions in a cars front and rear ends. The rear end of this thing looks like a fat redheaded kid making fart noises with his mouth. :)

Taillight designer was a wrestling fan.

That car is just too gorgous to be legal!

(The grille area may need a little work, but...)

And just what is wrong with making money?

Did you somehow miss this:

...which is as it should be, I guess.

Shouldn't you be out playing a round or two of golf, ya ole goat?

It's gosh darn COLD here in the Sunny Desert!

Frost delay on the golf course until 11 this morning.

High today in low 50's.

But 75+ by Friday.

Jonsibal's take on the Corvette C7R. Wouldn't it be great as the ZR1? Yes please.

with the new fuel mileage requirements i would expect that Z06 will get dropped from C7 lineup and that either the ZR1 of the Grand Sport will get twin turbo's as it is more fuel efficient than a supercharger. this new body style does not lend itself to wheel flares either, so that tells me that you are gonna get less options with the C7 than you did with the C6. the C7 that i buy will be which ever one has got the most power....

Looks like he morphed a GR-1.

It was actually much different in person than in pictures to me. They only had the Cyber Grey one on the floor, and the rear end was not nearly as bad the pics seemed. To be honest, the back end on the Vette looked better in person to me than the back end on the new Viper. Hard to tell on the red because it was hanging on the wall. The taillights did appear very Camaro to me, but it is what it is. It was not nearly as big as the pics made it look. For some reason it seemed like it was a lot bigger than the C6 in pics, but not at all in person. It is nowhere NEAR as big as the F12. Side profile was nice, greenhouse is good. I did not like the front end in person. The egg crate grill, hood vents and those two little protrusions were not appealing. Wheels were great. On balance, maybe it was just because of the color, but it was nowhere near as radical a departure as some of the reveal angles made it look. If you like the C6, you will like it. If you are lukewarm on the C6, you could go either way. If you don't like C6, you won't like it. Car guys will immediately notice the difference, but I can see average joe seeing a grey or black one and thinking it's a C6.5.

There is also ALOT of room to make a widened version on the car. It looked really wide and coke bottled in the pics, but seeing it up close, having wider body work on the performance variants will do it some good.
