2014 Corvette C7

Tho the overall size of the rear 1/3rd is bigger than I would like (black will hide that) I like the rear. Red is not great for this particular body.

The huge improvement for my taste is the front 1/3rd. More reminiscent of the 68' Coke bottle design for me.

Looks kinda "Hot Wheels" to me.....look forward to seeing though it in person and with the top down.

Good comparo;

Car is "busy", no sleek lines and that rear end, oh the humanity, they've gone mental.

Has sort of a Cadillac look to it, with the sharp angled lines.

i am gonna sell my 2004 C5 Z06 next year and buy the new vette :cool

I like it, I like it allot.
They have a well made steering wheel this time ( compared to the C6 ) and I can't wait to see the ZR1 C7. Think it will be bad ass!!!

:)

I would have thought it would look better in a darker color but this rear shot reaaaally shows off the integration of Camaro DNA.

The headlight effect is cool, but to me the car looks too transformer-ish. I absolutely hate those movies and that' partially why I can't stand the Camaro. :lol "I seen shit blowed up, and then I seen this awesome Camaro and it was yellow and it turned into a robot and then I bought one for my driveway!"

Can't decide if I like it or hate it. Gonna take a while to decide. It's definitely aimed at a younger crowd.

Good comparo;

They both cribbed the design from the Ford GR-1. Thieves.
Both look great, but that Ferrari is stellar.

Interesting pic from local news website.

Back end looks really tall and pinched in that pic. In this bottom one, I think it looks very race car in a good way.

I didn't catch whether the 99lb weight reduction was for the entire car or just the chassis, but if it represents a reduction in curb weight, that puts it at about 3,100 lbs. That is seriously light for a mass production V8 sports car in base guise.

Somebody that works over there posted on my local car forum that the 99# weight reduction was for the frame only and that the C7 as a whole weighs more than the C6 does. Didn't say how much more, but the emphasis on the 99 is marketing focus.

it has that exotic super car look to it for a 1/4 of the price of a Ferrari or Lambo :usa

wrap your ass in fiberglass because the vette gets em wet :club

Stingray ftw :beer2:

Yep. Brothers from different mothers.

In profile, she's a stunner, OK from the front, ugh from the back.

Interior is, well, different. Finally a couple of (so, so) options for the seat. Why they can't put a seat in these things with a proper lower bolster is beyond me.

My Z06 isn't in any immediate danger of being replaced.

We'll see what the Z0x and/or ZRx versions look like.

I'll do you one better.

"I'll do you one better."

On the headlights alone, GM ought to be fielding calls from Ferrari's lawyers.

I am not afraid to say I really like the whole body even the back end and I am sure it has more presents in person... The interior is an improvement. For the money it's still a heck of a car... can't wait to see the Hi Po versions or what the race car will looks like.

Agreed.

Do I like everything about the car? No.

I rarely do re: any car. Including our beloved Ford GT.

But I like it enough to want a black Z version down the road.

Well, Jalopnik was right about what the base C7s were going to look like. Here's what they said the ZR1s would look like:

If I remember correctly, 'twas mentioned in the unvail vid that GM had been working on the C7 for 7 years. IF THAT BE THE CASE, why do we have to wait for the 'ZRII', or whatever they might call it? They've had seven years to think about it. After all, the FGT only took 18 mo from drawing board to driveway, did it not?

'Seems Detroit has always pulled something like this. I remember when the '68 Corvettes first came out they were only available in rdstr form. The coupe was released a few months later. WHY? 'A sales thing? Are they hoping Mr. Gottahaveit will buy whatever he can get his hands on NOW just to have the 'first-one-on-the-block' and he'll also run right down and buy the model he really wants (for much the same reason) whenever it's released?

('Same multiple release thing has been/is in play these days as regards the Gen 5 Viper rdstr/convert...the Camaro convert...the C7 rdstr/vert, and on and on.)

Grumpy
