2012 Boss vs. 2013 SVT GT500

Read up on the Boss 302 engine. Ford made a new STRONGER head as opposed to just porting the coyote head. This tells me that they want to run boost through it. Applying the deck height (and stroke increase) of the 5.4 to the 5.0 yields 5.8L as per the rumor.

I have been also told that the engine will rev past 7500 with reliability, but the ECU's are not yet fast enough to keep up the valve timing calculations.

Must not be a technology constraint, has to be program $$ related. New ECU and a third Trackey (gold) ??

Agreed. BMW and Ferrari have been revving to 8000+ rpm for years with variable valve timing.

Yes of course it is possible with street EUC's to rev forever (like BMW and Ferrari). More this specific generation of Ford mustang ECU' and the 5.0. Maybe just the program, as cobrar mentions. Was lead to believe problem was going away in the not too distant future to spin it faster.

Point was that, it is one heck of a motor with more to come.

Understood! I was just contemplating having an entire ring of keys - black, red, and gold keys --

and a valet key for you for the upcoming 2011 Rental Car Invitational at VIR...

The car I would ''drive home'' is the GT500 ! I did.
