Just returned from the B.C. Historic races. Way too much fun!

A racing friend gave me a heads up on the 4th addition to the Targa Race Series for 2010. Currently the series has tarmac events in Tasmania, New Zealand and Newfoundland.

AND in May of 2010 in eastern British Columbia. The first entry for this race is our own Steve Millen. Driving his Nissan GT-R with co-sponsorship by Road & Track.

Note: Steve is entered in this years Targa Newfoundland in September.

It's nearly a year away but I am planning on attending this event. Just think of 5 days in and around some of the most beatiful mountain raods in North America. If anyone else is interested drop me an pm., email or an old fashioned phone call.

More info can be found at: www.targacanadawest.com

Regards to all:wink

Kyle - R&T vid's arevery interesting.

Please let us know how the new brake system works! Jeff

The brake testing is going very well and the car is running perfectly! We have completed our testing and the car is going to be loaded up on the 17th!!!

On a side note, it looks like we might not be competing in Targa Canada West. They have a timing/scoring system which does not really interest us. Basically it's bracket rally racing. We build our cars and make a lot of improvements to them so we can go as fast as possible, not to make a certain time through a stage. We'll see what the final verdict is, but right now it looks like they're pretty set on their timing.

:agree: B-O-R-I-N-G. Just like bracket racing at the drags...guaranteed mediocrity.

Just MHO.

Well,

for the average guy that enjoys blasting down the quarter or eigth mile every weekend, or every other weekend, at a local level, or regional, it is the only method to level the playing field and ensure there is indeed a "field" of cars in competition with a chance to bring home some cash. If there were not classes of bracket racing the amount of entries would be severely limited as the 'litlle' guy would have no interest as there would be no way to afford the technology of the moment. Of course, with 4 or 5 groups within a bracket, and money increasing in the quicker classes, to be faster would always be the reasonable goal. Back in the '80's, it was a kick running Street, then heavy, then Pro, and Super Pro as the years went on, and there was no way I could ever afford to beat the large money teams running dragsters in the 7's and 8's, or 9's. But with the bracket system I could run against them. And of course, the quicker car always has the advantage of seeing the potential red light of the slower car, and the distance at the top end is more manageable with more speed. Always dial under what you can run and cut a lite. Just my opinion as well. But the field of paid entries will always be larger with brackets included somewhere. For those only interested in being the quickest and/or fastest, there are categories for them as well; and they get national coverage.

Stepping Stones.

Good post Jeff, and keep updating.

Well the GT-R is sitting in a dealership in Bangor, Maine. Everything turned out very well and we are excited to see what the Targa new Foundland brings.
