I will keep my eye out for you. I look at 61 to 69 linc all the time.

Hard top 65 are the most reasonable of that year spread. :thumbsup
 
Hey Ray, Isaac forwarded this thread to me. What do you plan on doing to the '65?
I have a '64 and am also on the lincoln forum. I can ask those guys on there if they have know of any '65 for sale. There are a few folks in Texas that post on there frequently too. maybe they will know.

I don't even want to think aout you and a car like that. The song "Hot Rod Lincoln" comes to mind immediately. Suicide doors make me worry about you Ray.

No frame off resto for that boat-it's a huge unibody!

There is a black one at the detail shop at the corner of A and Wall.

In its first life, that shop was my dad's Humble Station where I grew up. :wink

Ray, sounds like something along the lines of "Ferrambo". The car Rambler with the Ferrari 360 powertrain that won the ridler award this year at Autorama.

May I suggest you talk to these guys for Lincoln specific issues. They are the best in the country at the old slabsides by far.

And Bakers in Ct is the best place to get stock parts for your lincoln. That's all they do and they do it right.

I do have to tell you, the 60's lincolns are a major bitch to work with. I'd say a mere fraction of the people that start radical mods to these cars actually ever finish them. Most people severely under estimate the amount of custom fab work that goes into it and run out of time, money, or patience.

I hope you stick with it because it sounds totally badass and I would love to see the finished product.

Please keep us updated on the progress of your project. I'm in the process of restoring a 1964 Lincoln convertible and agree they are difficult to work on.
 
Sinovac, are you on the thelincolnforum.net? That's the place to go for any questions. I personally think the 64 convertible is the best year for the slabsides. I have driven my '64 hardtop from Texas to Detroit and from Detroit to San Diego and back. It was a great trip and the Lincoln was a champ (except for a starter issue in Wyoming).
 
I love those suicide door hardtops. There's a cool looking '63 in Dallas on eBay now that already has air ride installed...would look sweet next to my '72 Mark IV!

I'm on that forum. There is a tremendous amount of experience represented on that board. To really appreciate the significance of the slab side Lincolns' design, you need to look at the Lincolns and Cadillacs that came before in. Truly a great post-war design.
