After going through some of my files, I thought I would upload and share the following literature that has been with my car since it was new. The previous owner was very detailed in obtaining as much information on the GT as possible.EE25FE12-BC5F-44A2-92BC-65AC6A5D54F1.jpeg257D1584-44EE-4600-93B4-86D40F8FFCD1.jpegEA63F70F-6C31-41E9-9195-77D7241E283C.jpeg763D9349-8632-47A1-85FE-84B40D8E321D.jpeg7D41477D-AF75-4FA8-B1C3-7B1B5B62A5DE.jpeg

Very cool! I would like to get my hands on the build book that wend into details on every car, too bad they did not include that with every car. Maybe someday someone at Ford will "find" them all!

Cool stuff! I must admit. I have it too!
I went nuts and got everything I could get my hands on! I have the pre production media package from 2002 which I think is really cool. I’ll post a picture later

Interesting that all the early literature states 500 hp instead of 550.

You, me, and about every other GT owner out there! I asked Multimatic if I could get a copy of my build book on my 2020. They kind of chuckled and said don’t worry we will take good care of it! 😂

Why are they keeping it? As they say, "I want my build book!" Oh sorry, that would be MTV.

For “future reference...” remember, there’s good, bad, and maybe some ugly in there! 😉

I have heard, but I really don't care if they had a specific issue with my car or not, it is that car's history. I have heard of lots of panel matching with Tungston cars anyway, so it does not matter to me. Heck, I'll sign off on that, I am not even the original owner.

I’d say there’s about 20 build books out there
Most were given as gifts to first owners who were related or helped promote the Gt in 2005
My build book was given as a gift for setting up the Forums first Rally and get together
Yes EVERYTHING is in there.........
Lawyers would have a field day
True cars guys would call it the best Playboy in print😀
If you read it like mine I found something I would never have found
Great times!

Mike Z. at Saleen routinely sent build books out in 2005-6 and another well-known connected man here helped arrange distribution to others. All you had to do was ask nicely then. Long gone now.

They are nice to have as additional historic documentation related to our cars but they are far from interesting in my view. For example, this nut was tightened to this torque value, this window rolled up this quickly, this employee inspected this assembly, etc.

I doubt you'll get ahold of him. Saleen has gone through three generations since the GT. The logs belonged to Ford and Ford says they've been destroyed. But the search will go on like Oak Island.

Legend has it, the Knights Templar moved the logbooks to Oak Island for safe keeping... Could it be, the logbook mystery lies at the bottom of the money pit? Some experts say, yes...
Pretty much a summary of the entire show... 😂

LOL! Digging for these will not be productive now.

Mike Z is a dear friend...…….
He was the "entire " floor manager at Troy under Saleen for a lack of a better word.
After the project ended he stayed on for the Saleen Mustang, Pickup truck and Saleen 7 for a bit but then came the end of the world in 2008.
He had a short stint with Shelby mustang and specialty Fords for awhile.
Mike hit VERY HARD TIMES.
Made it through BUT I don't think there's a snowballs chance in heck to find those books.
They were all moved for record to Roush for at least ten years. If I remember they were then destroyed.
I might be wrong. but close.
One reason they were kept for awhile was for data and in the event anything happened to a cluster of cars they could track the timeline, parts and suppliers.
Everyone is gone now.
I Think Penske now owns Saleens old building. "TROY"...DBK might know.
The Wixom building which was the old Ford Fairlane building and T birds for awhile was leased by HONDA, Torn down and now is a battery storage facility for Honda. By todays EPA standards a SUPERFUND SITE FOR AT LEAST 1,000 YEARS.
Some of "US" petitioned Ford/Fred/Chris to make WIXOM a "HERITAGE RESTORATION CENTER"......As Ferrari,Porche,Aston and Jaguar had done.
But, the crash of 2008, Mullaley saving the company with NO BAILOUT , it wasn't in the cards sadly...…….
On that one they blew it.
Imagine your original FORD GT, GT40, COBRA, MUSTANG certified restored or repaired at WIXOM! With a certified certificate.
At THAT time there was still Original MUSTANG emplyees at Ford along with GT40 engine builders , The DNA would have been great
It could have been a GOLD MINE plus kept the HERITAGE of any of the makes ALOT STRONGER.
Maybe I call Mike on the way home from Amelia today!
Lets see ...
