I have an 05 (#149), and the inside of the passenger door panel (metal part) is loose? It is still attached just kind of hanging and rattling on one side. Is that glued on? Does anyone have an easy fix for this? I know it is not complicated just wanted to know if anyone has done this before.

Additionally, my door ajar light seems to stay even though the doors appear closed. I have to open and close the doors until it decides to turn off. I know the doors are definitely closed tight.. I have checked a few times. It does eventually turn off when you close it "just right". Has anyone had this issue? I assume that it is the sensor and the angle of the door.. maybe not sure. Any help would be much appreciated.

I used two-sided tape to hold the metal door inserts in place. 3M makes a good one. (Its not an elegant fix but it works.)

Regarding the door ajar indication; Whenever my light came on mysteriously, it was my either my clamshell or front deck lid that didn't latch completely.

The inner trim ring should be removed and then all of the OEM tape removed and then an adhesive promoter needs to be used before using the double stick film; it is extremely thing and there is a dealer TSB on this as many have had to have them re-secured.

Now as for the door ajar light; if you are certain that it is not the boot or the bonnet then the switch within the door may be loose or faulty in which case the inner leather trim panel will need to be removed.

If I can be of assistance do not hesitate to ask.

Exactly! :agree:

Door ajar issue: You can test to see if your front bonnet is open by tapping the windshield wiper button. If the front bonnet IS open the wiper will not return to its proper rest position.

I did not think of that. Thank you Mark!

What people do in their hotel rooms is a private matter...
What was that room number again?

Early cars did use adhesive tape. Later cars (not sure of cutoff) used clips to secure door ring trim. My car was "fixed" at the Saleen plant in Troy,Mi. after delivery. Inside door pulls also had a "fix" for less pressure to get out of the car, done at the same time. Keith

All of the cars used the adhesive tape.... up through the end of production.

Kendall is right. The clips came out as a TSB and you had to take the car in for them to be installed.

Does that mean you can still have this taken care of this far out?
