West Houston FGT Owners, I Need a Small Favor

As many know, I want to re-paint my wheels back to silver and no one has ever been sure what the paint code was. After numerous discussions with people, including BBS, I bought a bottle of the consensus opinion and painted a small bracket with it. Can anyone spare the time for me to come over...

What Wax Product do You Use on the Red Paint?

Or could be true on other colors as well, if they are non-metallic. I have been using a less expensive spray on wax for both my cars for several years. On the metallic paint Diablo, it works great…….on the FGT, it leaves spots and looks greasy. Anyone have a spray on wax they recommend for...

    Really? IMO a Horrible Appraisal

Just saw this video. Original owner, 31k miles, tasteful mods.......$275k to $300k Now is it just me, or would there be a line of buyers going around the block to buy it at this price? Aren't salvage cars pretty close to this?

So What are You Planning to do With or On Your FGT This Year?

I have a list of things I would like to get done on my FGT this year (I really don’t go anywhere so the with part doesn’t apply): 1. Address the difficulty I have opening the frunk (there is an interference at the front of it now) 2. Repaint the ugly black wheels back to silver (the shade is...

    Finally Did it....Ordered a Jeep Wrangler.....With a V8

Have been wanting one since the 4 door came out in 2006 (the 2 door wasn't a good fit for our then growing family). That dream was dormant until 2019 when the retractible roof came out, started getting real vibes when the Diesel was introduced in 2020, and the fever ramped up when they put a...

Looking for a Paint Sample From a Broken Wheel

Might be a wild goose chase or just stupid, but when I bought my car, someone had already painted the optional wheels black. I want to throw a wrench at them whenever I pass by. After a bunch of research, no one has ever identified the paint code. So I was wondering if anyone had a wheel...

    Frunk Rubbing Against Bumper

As stated, the frunk is rubbing against the bumper(the little strip between the fans) making it hard to open. When my rear clamshell was rubbing, Rich just loosened 3-4 screws and moved the rear bumper around…..is there a similar adjustment for the front? Thanks

    Excessive Wind Noise

At higher speeds (like 60 mph) we start getting a lot of wind noise. It sounds like it is coming in around the windshield (or somewhere in front of us),but the last time we drove, the passenger and I felt around the circumference of the glass but didn’t feel anything. I did have to put some...

Ford should be kicking its own ass over lack of Bronco availability

My Escape was T-boned a couple of months ago. Geico is going to fix it because of the used car market, but with structural damage it has I probably won't keep it. Sat down with a Ford salesman where it is being fixed, and he has a wait list on 3 pages of a legal pad and most will not get cars...

Need to Adjust the Rear Clamshell, a big deal or not?

So had an oil change at a Ford dealer in December. Did not have a reason to open the clamshell until last week (checking tire wear). When the clamshell was reaching full open, I heard a rubbing sound....was coming from the passenger side edge rubbing against the rear bumper. After I closed...

What Are You Paying for Oil Changes at the Ford Dealer?

An FGT Review With Some Things Not to do

These guys were lucky they did not get hurt or damage the car. But it was a nice review overall....ironic that Hagerty was their sponsor. Also think they did not search very hard for tires.

Best Current FGT Techs in and Around Houston Tx?

So I have a leak coming in at the top of the windshield and dribbling down the inside of the glass. I called a Houston Ford dealer and their only recommendation was to replace the windshield, even though the glass is fine. That just sounds dumb to me. Anyone have any recommendations for a...

At What Tread Depth do you Recommend a Tire Change?

Have Bridgestones and currently at 5/32 (the wear bar is at 2/32 I think) in the rear. At what depth have you seen a significant decrease in wet weather performance? Thanks

    Exhaust Part Identification

The weather has finally improved in Texas, and after fixing a bunch of broken pipes had some time to spend with the car. In some ways, I'm still trying to figure out what I bought and I saw something I don't recall seeing before. So there is this round cylinder that says Ford Racing on it that...

    Water Leak Through Windshield

In heavy rains, my car starts dripping through the top of the windshield, 6-8 drops a minute on the passenger side. I was talking to a mechanic about fixing this and he was reluctant about doing it because he thought if he needed to pull the windshield to re-weatherstrip it that the front end...

As you know, just bought mine, and I haven't seen much clothing. Anyone have leads for me? Also, and I have nothing to do with this, would there be interest in jackets like this? I did buy this though:

Comparing Cars With Different Number of Miles

Good Morning, Assuming similar condition (relative to miles), what kind of cost per mile would you recommend in comparing two cars (say a 5k car and a 15k car)? In the Lamborghini / Ferrari world for example, the rule of thumb runs from $1/mile difference for reasonably rare cars (Countach...
