Sounds like blend door stickyness atl_gt. If you do need heat at some point, don't go full tilt with the dial. This would prevent the door from adhering itself to the housing - if that's the issue. Good luck!

I'd start by letting the get up to operating temperature, then in the passengers side foot well above the fuse box cover locate a copper colored pipe - see if it's hot. If it is, shut the engine off then turn the key back to the "on" or "run" position. Do not start the engine. Position your head...
