    Shadowman and the perfect FGT

My car found me on the west coast. So after some conversation it was decided that a stop at Shadowman's California facility would facilitate making the car uniquely mine. A detailed and thorough inspection with installation of Clearbra, Kip's Cubby, an upgraded Audio system, magnetic drain...

The GT School, March 9-10, 2009

east coast GT school Has the school ever been to the east coast? And are there plans to do so? If I were to fly to the left coast for the school next year, can any arrangement be made to drive an FGT? I assume most are driving their own FGT. And mine won't fit in the overhead storage bin...

OK--How long to warm tires to avoid a crackup?

heat cycles and grip MDT's point is absolutely crucial. I threw my GY F1's on the garbage heap with way more than 1/2 of their tread left. When parked they really didn't look that far from new!! But no grip!! Breaking the rear loose at 90 in 4th gear with no downshift (kids, don't try this...

OK--How long to warm tires to avoid a crackup?

I agree we all need to be careful not to overinflate... it's also risky to put too much air in your tyres.

OK--How long to warm tires to avoid a crackup?

So are we saying GY F1's are less than adequate performers unless they're warm? Or the polar moment of the FGT is difficult to control? By the way, has anyone yet explained to congress how much the country would save in energy costs if they'd simply repeal the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics?

OK--How long to warm tires to avoid a crackup?

let's NOT wreck it! After studiously reading this thread, I have some observations and then questions for those that 'have been there, done that' and know far more than me. I've been 'sideways' many times, as we all have, and usually it's intentional on a track in Z06, P-car, BMW or whatever...

To clear or not to clearbra the car?

should I put on Venture or the new 3M, or run around naked? I've done my homework and read the voluminous posts on the subject here at the forum. And understand that at the end of the day, everyone makes their own choice. I've seen a few hi-end p-cars with newly applied and felt to be...

Your garage, how do you open GT's door??

just thought of this! how do you get out of your GT once safely in the garage. I can't throw the other valuable car outside! I hate the idea of having to start the other car's engine and back it out and then pull it back in. Not because of the time... just hate the idea of the additional...

are there negatives to having seat lowered?

when you lower the seat by removing padding as has been described on this great forum, is there any negative... such as pain in the ass on long trips? Is the lack of padding not noticeable, or is it a case of 'look you can't have it both ways, quit whining and decide whether you want a...

'05 vs '06 FGT... which is better?

I've read the numerous threads discussing the diffs, and I appreciate the thoroughness of the forum contributors. When it's all said and done, is there any reason to prefer the '06 (ceteris paribus)? Is the panel fit or paint felt to be slitely better in '06's? And can I assume all cars have...

how to trip with the Ford GT??

I'd plan on giving ALL the space to what's-her-name...I'll carry a spare pair of boxers 'n' socks in my shirt pocket. Even with this sacrifice on my part, having the wife along does have undeniable advantages.:banana... just wanna be sure she'll go along for the ride... so to speak. bma2

how to trip with the Ford GT??

how do you GT on the weekends? I've seen inside the front bonnet and the space for the soft duffel bag. With the wife aboard for weekend trips (or Ford GT gatherings), can you lay clothes flat in the area above the duffel storage area?

Ford GT vs Z06... cockpit dimensions

I'd love to hear opinions about the interior space in the Ford GT for a guy that's 6' 4" tall. My Z is absolutely comfortable. Viper is very constricting, and the P-car works just barely! Has anyone lowered the seat in the FGT? Anyone in Columbus GA or Montgomery AL have a FGT I could sit in...
