If you have hands-on experience with axel bolt replacement...

I'm still not comfortable with the "Torque to Yield" bolts yet, when I did mine, I just followed the instructions until I got the the one more 1/4 turn thing, I set the torque wrench on 40lbs and clicked away. Marked the bolt head locations with a yellow paint pen, and it's been fine ever...

Ok need an opinion here ....

If the snake was really that aggressive, yeah, I'd do him with a .22 cal, and move on to the issue with the neighbor next. What kinda' snake was it? I'm at a point in my life where I don't want to kill anything these days... but sometimes, in a case like this, it become necessary. mardyn

    Accurate description?

No, I can't... that's why I'm using the magazine numbers for a basically stock GT. http://jalopnik.com/cars/jalopnik-fantasy-garage/ford-gt-262394.php With the relatively simple mods I have, and a great tune, I feel (I'm sure) my car is significantly quicker & faster that it was originally...

    Accurate description?

What does FGT Forum think? I'm writing a description of my car to go with a photo shoot (calendar) the car was used in for my favorite girls HS softball team... I've described it thusly: 2005 Ford GT, 600 HP 5.4 DOHC V-8, supercharged with dry sump oiling system & Ricardo 6 speed transaxle...

Are any of y'all planning on going to the Ford shindig over at Sandy Lake Park next Saturday (4-19-08)? SCAT is also hosting its monthly GTG over there at the same time in conjunction with the Ford Picnic. If the weather is decent (which it's supposed to be good all week), I'm going to drive...

    Factory Service Manual lift points?

Works fine on mine, I've had it on my lift several times, with no damage to the front pan... but be very careful, it has to be on the diagonal cross-member. GT Guy Rich Brooks advised me on this when they were here working on the Dallas GT Group cars, so I feel fairly safe on use of these...

    Factory Service Manual lift points?

Yes, there are alternative forward lifting points for our cars... difficult to explain, but basically, anywhere along the forward sub-frame from the forward wheel well across to the standard lift point... but extreme care must be used as it's covered by the belly pan. I'll try and find a...

There has to be an easier way to Lift a Ford GT

Yeah, me too... I've had mine on the lift for about a week now. Took me about an hour to get it positioned just right, get the arms situated, get the blocks of wood under the lifting points, and so on. Now, I don't want to take it back off until every last thing is checked, and re-checked...

    What's the purpose...

of the requirement for RTV/gasket maker between the flange washer and the t/a output shaft. just curious, anybody know? Also, for those that have completed the latest update themselves, did the torque values supplied in the instructions for the updated bolts seem a little low? My update job...

    Artwork...

Thanks for all the positive replies... 'cat, yes, the cross over is active and also has some additional baffling to help with noise control. (one of my BIG concerns was I didn't want it too loud) The bottom mount uses the stock bracket off the back of the transaxle and has provisions to...

Old news, I know.... just bare with me. So, this afternoon, I'm all hunkered down under the rear clam shell of my GT, removing the half shaft bolts to complete the drive flange bolt update. As I'm attempting to remove the necessary hardware, I'm simply mesmerized by the outstanding quality of...
